    If the Bears want the public to fund their new stadium, then the public should get a significant stake in the team to help recoup their investment.

    Leverage to force Illinois or Chicago tax dollars to pay for a new stadium. Lease w/ Chicago is until 2033 and Indiana “announcement” is non-binding. Nothing is actually happening besides an escalated public threat that billionaires need your tax money.

      This is absolutely just a step to try and force concessions from Chicago/Illinois. Hopefully the bluff gets called. I’d bet money the Hammond site is too contaminated from local industry to build without massive remediation that would push the schedule way past 2033.
