I got into the habit of leaving the radio on for my budgie after his brother died so he wouldn’t get lonely. And in recent years, farridge only had to fart for 5 Live to dedicate a whole segment to him. He makes a speech and they air the whole thing. Then spend an hour talking about it. I’ve watched my nephews and nieces do their homework. My niece (year 5) literally just copied and pasted her maths homework into chatgpt. The boys (year 7 and 8) just run their Spanish homework through translators.

How are they learning anything?

Bring back exercise books. Even if they still cheat and use chatgpt, having to actually write it out by hand means they’d at least know what they’re copying.

That’s the difference between those of us who write for the love of the craft, who want to create something we’re proud of, and those who just want to make a quick buck.
