Aside from his regular-ish parody tours, we’ve also seen him do an acoustical tour of only his own music without any parodies, costumes, etc. We also saw him tour with a 30+ piece orchestra. Two words: “OBOE SOLO!”

My wife & I have seen Weird Al 4 times now and will be seeing him again this summer. While he mostly does a big show of his parodies with costumes & props we’ve also see him do a low-key acoustical tour where he only played his original music and none of the parodies. We also saw him tour with a full 30-piece orchestra, which was really fun as well.

The submarine commander didn’t do this unilaterally. He was clearly ordered to do so, and that order would have come from Hegseth or Trump.

Holy fuck. Recording people undressing etc. is bad enough, but it never occurred to me that they’d also be recording sensitive financial details like credit card numbers. This is a cyber criminals wet dream…

LNG tankers routinely come in & out of Boston harbor, and I was a USCGAUX volunteer there for much of the 90’s ‘ early 2000’s. We would provide USCG escorts as they transited the harbor, as they have security zones for a mile or so in front of them. Our job was to shoo all the other boating traffic away from it well in advance.
After the 9/11 attacks there was a huge uproar from folks who were convinced one well aimed hand grenade would be enough to detonate one of these tankers with enough force to flatten downtown Boston. I recall the newspapers, local TV news, etc. all interviewing experts that said such an explosion was virtually impossible, and a burn-off like what happened here was the most likely outcome.
To become truly explosive, natural gas has to mix with an appropriate amount of oxygen, and for the LNG in a tanker to reach that state it would have to boil off a huge amount in such a way that the cloud of gas remains intact for a long time. You would need no winds at all for hours to reach that state, and then after that you would need an ignition source. When liquified natural gas ignites it is so condensed that it just burns.

Exactly. Natural gas is transported as a liquid, at temperatures of roughly -160 degrees Celsius or -260 degrees Fahrenheit. It takes a pretty serious refrigeration system to maintain those temperatures on a tanker.

Yes, exactly. They can accurately hit targets 2km away while moving at 30+ MPH.

Is this a direct result of Russia losing unfettered access to Starlink?

Not to mention that the Abrams tank can do that highly accurately while moving at 40 MPH over rough terrain. Their stabilization system is second to none. Ukraine has received around 80 of these tanks I believe.

I like the idea of referring to LLMs as “spicy autocomplete”.

Came here to say pretty much the same thing. There are a few AMC theaters near us that my wife and I enjoy going to from time to time. But it’s clear they aren’t doing anything when it comes to maintaining & repairing their seats. They were awesome when the theaters were newly renovated, but the last time we went one of our seats was broken so badly we couldn’t sit comfortably in it. Luckily there were plenty of empty seats so we could move easily.

He’d probably make sure all Americans pay up front for any health care they receive this way…
This is (or was) the front lobby of their office. I used to work across the street from their old office, and actually got a tour of their labs a number of years ago. This is exactly what you saw when you walked in the door.
The amount of overtime police here in Massachusetts get is ridiculous. The police union here is so powerful that we don’t have regular flag people at construction/work sites. It’s always paid police details. It’s not uncommon for some cops to pull in decent 6 figure salaries with all the overtime they pull in.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Thanks. We just decided to sign up for this self-driving 8 day tour.

Banff, Jasper, and all the Canadian Rockies in between. Especially if you like hiking in out-of-the-way locations.
Also New Zealand’s South Island.

Will be visiting Iceland next month. Can’t wait to see things like this IRL.
Panama Canal has a natural lake to feed water to the canal locks. Where are you going to get a sufficient water supply for the 50m of elevation in this proposal?
