No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Meal Replacement Drink Suggestions?
9·3 days ago250g oats + 20g walnuts/almonds + 20g unsweetened cocoa powder + 20g molasses/date syrup + 1 or 2 bananas + a few ice cubes
add water, blend.
I keep the dry ingredients stored in glass jars right next to my kitchen scale, so it only takes like a minute or two to prepare. Been drinking variations of this for breakfast every morning for years.
Cheaper and more nutritious than any expensive prepackaged meal replacement drinks you can buy. Eat real food.

3·16 days agoMy general advice for espresso is keep it simple and not overthink it. Don’t weigh your beans, don’t single dose, don’t spray water or WDT or do any of that esoteric espresso nerd jazz.
Get a burr grinder that grinds fine enough for espresso in the 200-400€ range, backflush the machine regularly (aim for every morning (with detergent once a week), descale with citric acid once a year, don’t overspend on artisanal locally roasted beans unless you have the money and enjoy the ritual of picking them up.There’s a lot of unnecessary optimization in the espresso world like in a lot of hobbies. Italians did fine without all that for the better part of a century.
Don’t listen to James Hoffman.

5·19 days agoMountain biking. Mainly the biking part because where I live you’re lucky to find as much as a hill, but there’s still plenty of nature and footpaths to explore. Fun way to exercise, commute, and it gives me a reason to go outside every day.
It got me into doing bike repairs too, and the skillset and tools are applicable for lots of other areas too, which has saved me a ton of dosh over the years.

Without factoring in nostalgia I think I’ll have to go with the Switch. Its library including rerelease of older systems’ titles is hard to match. I played so many cool games on it that I still think about a lot years later.
Xenoblade 1, 2, 3, X
Dragon Quest XI
Shin Megami Tensei V
Monster Hunter Rise
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Smash Ultimate
Breath of the Wilds
Mario Odyssey
Mario Kart 8
New Horizonsand countless others. Then there’s the whole handheld/console hybrid aspect of it. For years I would exclusively play it handheld because I didn’t even have a TV. Crazy good system, just a shame it marked the beginning of Nintendo leaning heavy into their anti-consumer and profit maximization BS. Not planning on getting a Switch 2 for a long time.
