My old laptop is running Pop!OS on 8gigs really well. I mostly do document editing, vector graphics, and a little light gaming. Have not updated to COSMIC yet so will see how that goes. I definitely dont load it up like my beefy desktop though.

Win 10 pro never forced me but i did power cycle pretty often anyways. It did still give me bs full screen ads for win 11 though sometimes. Now im on Bazzite with minimal disruption and even some improvements to my workflow :)

I think this might be a multi level move to get you to do just that (and to push whatever that other vpn is) Imo the best thing to do is disregard anything meta says and keep up your own diligence

Im not sure where you’re seeing companies only want you for 40hours. Kitchens and serving you are often expected to work more than 40hours. Sure you may get overtime if your boss isint a theif but whats overtime on minimum wage or even a bit above? Barely anything. Salaried positions its also very strongly implied that you will put in more than 40 hours in many places. Sure you dont have to but expect to stagnate or be put on PIPs
