As a longtime McMaster user, our work recently tried to get us to switch to Fastenal and/or Grainger as preferred suppliers because of some bullshit procurement dick-waving (they wouldn’t offer us a blanket 1% discount like the other guys, or something)

It’s honestly astounding how bad their websites are, compared to just about anything else, even if you have the manufacturer’s exact part number.

But yeah, McMaster is awesome,and there was enough hell raised that they were back on as a preferred supplier within a few months. Like, what even is a 1% discount when it means your engineers and maintenance guys are spending untold hours fighting a shitty website to find that one specific component that McMaster serves you up in 4 clicks?

Honestly, what are you going to do with more than the 3 primary genres of “Hot new movies you’ll love”, “Trending films this week”, and “Throwback to last month’s Top 10”?

All the Nextdoor smoothbrains in Illinois got very concerned about the state gas tax at the same time, about 2 weeks ago, after not making a peep about gas prices since Biden was in office.

I haven’t looked back to try and find the Fox News segment they all got their script from, but the timing was odd.

Really? Those people who cant figure out how to engage their cruise control are the bane of my road tripping existence.

Especially when they pass you oh-so-slowly forcing you you to slow down to get in the passing lane behind them when you encounter the next few cars, then they slow down while passing, only to speed up again 2 miles later after you overtake them…

Its about the mildest possible of infuriating, but its like water torture.

I’m convinced that private trackers are the pirating equivalent to snipe hunting.

Like, I’m sure they exist, but mostly just for sake of trolling casuals who aren’t willing to spend hours and hours min-maxxing their client and torrent list.

From a US-centric POV, I always thought the stereotypical Aussie accent kind of sounded like a Texas-ification of the “standard” UK accent. Including the use of wacky phrases and slang.

Gotcha. Yeah, I just have a standard 1gig residential fiber connection with unlimited data from a large US telco. I’m sure there is some provision in the T&Cs where they could cap your data, but so far they are holding to the “unlimited” statement.

I don’t necessarily prefer them, I just honestly haven’t put much effort into getting into any private trackers.

Are you using a VPN that allows port forwarding? It took me a couple months of slow uploads to realize that was my problem.
