Well… If you see doki doki literature club as porn, wtf??
Less mockingly, I also appreciated tank dating simulator. It’s not a porn game but makes fun of them, all the “girls” are actually historical tanks and their friends/enemies as well as features/issues are historically accurate as best as I could tell. For example the French girl/tank keeps running into people(yes literally running into them) because the French tank she is modeled after had many issues with it braking system.
But then you make a kickstarter to make potato salad…

14·10 days agoThink back… XP had many complaints at release too, wasn’t till sp2 or sp3 it was actually decent.
I’m hoping to do this as minimal as possible as the “Linux pc” is just an old raspberry pi.
Yup! Bought an android phone on Amazon. I got a bunch of ads for phones or incompatible accessories. Amazon… You know I bought a android phone, why are you selling me a lightning cable? You know it was a pixel phone, why are you selling me a phone case for a Samsung s series phone?
I’ll piss off a bunch of lemmy users with this but… I don’t mind ads. I hate useless ads. As you said, ads about teas or coffees would of been useful for you. 99% of the time if I buy something I don’t need more of that, maybe some associated stuff but not that. If I buy a video card yesterday I don’t need another one. Sell me the latest games. Sell me da monitor with high fps/resolution to show off what the video card can do. I buy a clothes washer, I don’t need another one. Sell me detergent. Sell me fabric softener.
How have all the advertising companies missed this?

1·13 days agoOk, so what other solutions are there? I want the ability to record medication doses given and seizure incidents from multiple sources into one collection and potentially pull that data to make reports?

1·15 days agoThe whole idea behind having it hosted is to be able to record stuff when not at home. For example he had a seizure in the bathroom of a gas station the other day. I’d like to be able to use an app on my phone to generate a json file and send it to a server where it’s recorded in a dB.
The big thing I want is to be able to go to a doctor’s appointment and have a list of all seizures with applicable details. Like “in the last 6 months he had 84 seizures but you added medication X 4 months ago and as you can see that resulted in a 80% reduction in seizures on a weekly basis” or “he had 45 seizures in 3 months but they mostly happen just after lunch, can we adjust the medication schedule to account for lunch time?”
I don’t want it locally on my phone completely because I want his mother(my girlfriend) to also be able to record incidents if I’m not around and have everything sync to one source of truth. Yeah I guess it’s possible to record on my phone, record on her phone and then do some sort of merge to generate the full report but that seems really messy.
The problem is most people don’t want to be hundred billionaires in 20 years, they want to be 10 millionaires by the end of the month. To do that you don’t go for great products, you go for good products you can make sound great to other people and hope other people are stupider than you.

I’ve said it in other similar articles, it depends on your definition of “Ai”. Marketing is insisting on “powered by Ai” on all sorts of products but that doesn’t mean llm. Some “Ai” may be useful, like the old on-star system on some cars. They had multiple inputs to determine if a crash occurred and alert emergency services if it did… Could be classified as Ai.
Your toothbrush example could be useful, if just finished cleaning cycle and battery level below 20% and not on charger, emit a beep to alert user to charge tooth brush. More advanced, and I doubt these are the case but would be cool and useful. If the could detect blood during a cleaning cycle, alert user to contact a dentist for possible gum disease. Or detection of a new/growing hole in a tooth based on the defection of the bristles and alert user to see a dentist for possible cavity.
Without a solid definition of “Ai” this is all marketing talk. Basically all “Ai” takes multiple inputs and then generates an output based on those inputs. If you say it must generate it based on a llm, then what about the image generating ai? If you say it must have natural language as in an input most of these “Ai” products don’t qualify unless they expect you to say “ok, sonic care end cleaning cycle” with a mouth full of toothpaste and water. Technically an argument could be made that a check engine light on a car is “powered by Ai”.
The only definition which goes against this and I would agree to is a system where given an identical set of inputs the output is not always(or ever) the same. If that’s the case then I am going to start making “Ai” powered lava lamps…
