They are when they are being shown beside polling and election results. I don’t know why people don’t get this but it’s painfully obvious what is being done here to me. I’m not sure how people keep underestimating the stupidity of the American public.

The betting markets are being treated as reliable data for predicting elections. Actually being treated as MORE reliable than polling. Wow. Amazing.

Once this is accepted in the mind of the average American. The prediction markets become a “source of truth”. This means, with enough money, this “source of truth” can literally just be bought.

In the future we’re gonna be listening to CNN say “something is very weird with these election results. This is the first time EVER that we’ve seen results that are so different from ‘the markets’.”

We have spent years listening to the conservatives lying about election results. We have spent years watching them implement voter suppression and redistricting. How are people not seeing the obvious future purpose of these “prediction markets”.

It’s to manufacture consent for stealing elections. It’s really that simple. Stop treating these markets as anything but a future means to weigh public perception with money.

When the federal government “takes over” polling stations showing “suspicious results”. They will point to the prediction markets as justification. Mark my words.

We are currently in the “these markets are really good at predicting public opinion” phase. This will quickly be changed to “these markets are really good at manipulating public opinion” once they are accepted as a “source of truth” by the American public.

Stop pointing to them as reliable. You’re doing the work for billionaires to have the public put more faith in money than actual statistics.

The analogy is that that’s what the betting markets are doing. They’re reflecting the data in this specific case. But they don’t have any meaningful addition to add apart from how much money people are willing to bet on an outcome. People with more money have STRONGER opinions on the weight of the outcome.

In the near future. Someone is going to spend a lot of money to weigh these predictions markets in favor of the outcome that they want. They will then point to that “bought” prediction market data as a reason for why “the election was stolen”. And idiots like yourself that point to this data as meaningful will have done the work in everyone’s mind enough to think “hmmm, that is weird. I was told these prediction markets are very reliable”. No one will listen to the math that doesn’t match that market prediction. They will listen to the betting markets data because they are constantly fed it as meaningful. It is not meaningful. The math is. This specific case just has the betting following the math.

You’re being an asshole AND you’re sewing unjustified confidence in the data from these websites. “Data” that can literally be changed by money.

Like, there is actual statistical analysis that proves what you are trying to say. It’s literally what is weighing those bets anyway. You’re gonna get downvoted for posting gambling sites data instead of the actual math. It’s as simple as that mate.

The remaining votes are primarily from high density urban areas that are not voting Republican. So the distance is shrinking with every new dump. But the dumps are not trending in favor of Steyer enough to make up the gap if the trend continues as it is.

There are models that follow the current trend of data. There are models that weigh the trend per county based on previous voting patterns. There are models that weigh the trend based on the county and also take into account a weight based on very similar counties (similar vote distribution in previous elections) that have already been counted in this election. etc, etc. None of them have a very high probability of him making up that gap. That’s why the markets are betting the way they are.

The models being used to place bets would be the actual probstats analysis you could show to prove your point. The betting markets ARE reflecting that data. Because it is a bet based on hard math. But there is no reason to ever cite a fucking gambling website as a source. Bets are rarely based so directly on hard math.

If you think kids are mean. Wait until you hear all the parents that verbally abuse kids on the field because of their “inferior” gender identity. Or the coaches that form “nonbinary” teams of all cis boys. “Our team sucks because it has too many girls”.

I played on a “mixed” summer softball team as a kid in South Georgia. It was literally just for fun and had no “championship”. Each game was entirely independent. Half of the already few girls quit after a few games. Little 8 year old girls crying because of shit they heard parents saying or that the other kids repeated.

This shit goes deep into our culture and society. Until that changes doing “all gender” sports is not a good idea in practice.

There are so few trans kids in our population. There are even fewer that want to play sports. The best thing to do now is let kids play on the team they want play on. And never ever ever allow these “genital inspection days”.

Unless you have magical mind controlling powers you can do this through positive or negative incentives.

Negative incentives (fines for having more children) just creates a class structure of rich people having more children. And eventually fails to slow down the population.

Positive incentives are entirely ineffective. People that want to have kids are gonna have kids.

Neither of these work. And especially don’t work long term. It’s why China ended it’s “one child policy”. A policy that they mostly regret implementing and it’s side effects are still causing issues to this day.

Or, the other alternative is - being a Nazi. Deciding who gets to reproduce and with who. Forcing abortions or chemical castration on the population. That method definitely works!

So, the next time you find yourself talking about “population limits” I want you to actually think of how that would be successfully implemented. Because it is ALWAYS devolves into Nazi shit.

The “extremely intelligent” ones are usually just attributing their experience with humans being more common. Like the bears of Yosemite. Fascist seek to overthrow liberal democracy. They, historically, have not done this by an outside revolutionary movement that overthrows the systems by force (think the French revolution). They instead exploit the contradictions of liberal democracy and build Fascism within its existing structures.

All mention of “liberals” in my initial comment are in reference to the non fascist politicians that are attempting to prevent fascism but are entirely unable to do so. Not because they are fascist. But because fascism is a destruction of liberal democracy from within. It’s exploits the process of liberal democracy to take power.

(2) I’m using “iPad kid” in the colloquial sense. It’s not literally about when the iPad was released. There are plenty of Internet based media consumption products that were portable long before 2010.

It’s to mean growing up in the age of a media environment that profits specifically on keeping a child’s attention and parents that are exhausted from overwork using it as a means of calming them.

This has been true for all kids to some extent since the birth year of 2000. It’s not all kids. It’s not all parents. It’s different levels of intensity and at different ages of development. But, my point is around the general trend of more young adults that are experiencing less organic real world socialization.

It is the increased commodification of childhood. It is not unique to this generation but is growing significantly more intense. But, just as more of our adult lives are built into commodities (dating apps) so too are the lives of children. And one thing that is really easy to get from children is their addiction to watching media.

Since I’ve had a kid of my own I’m quickly come to realize that a lot of the “adults” I encounter literally just never learned how some basic lessons on how to act in a group. It’s become painfully obvious spending all day with a toddler and then seeing literally the same behavior in adults.

Like, my toddler has a lot of the same level of emotional skills as adults but just expresses them in a more extreme way.

Like, an 8 year old that wines and has a tantrum like a toddler is going to quickly learn that no other kids want to be around them. Did we lose this socializing part of growing up at some point? Do those kids just have other forms of socializing online so they never learn how to act in a real life group?

I’m sure this is true for any generation to a degree. But, I can’t help but think Ipad childhoods have created a generation of adults that never had to learn simple traits like sharing or working in a group. Instead of feeling bored and isolated for their bad behavior in a group. They have constant access to a stimulant while isolated.

A lot of these “adults” find their social connections through other “adults” that also just act shitty to other people. There only way of finding community is finding others that are also garbage hateful people.

I really think we need “reeducation camps” for these adults. Like, I don’t know what else to do with people like the ones in the article. These aren’t people that can function in a healthy society. The issue is that they are functioning perfectly well from their perspective. And I think that is really a testament to how incredibly sick and broken our society is.

These are just the legal bribes. The comfy jobs in the industry waiting for them after they are good little soldiers of capital are another form.

Not to mention these politicians are just holding assets in industries that will profit for the policies they will pass. Directly or indirectly.
