Trimmed and sorted my garlic harvest today. I think they were all from saved cloves from previous years.

They are sorted into: seed bulbs (best), use first (smallest, most questionable curing) and other, which is suitable for giving or using at home.

    Oh no, haha, I found them in the store in the spring so I planted in spring. I also have no scapes, and all the parts I can see are very green. I may put mulch out before first frost and try for harvesting next year.

      When you plant them depends on your climate and the type!

      When do you get frost? Maybe try pulling one before frost and seeing if it formed a bulb, i.e. distinct cloves from the clove you planted. If so, you may want to break it up into the cloves (paper on!) and plant those. Otherwise, they don’t really grow right and you get a bunch of tiny cloves grouped together.
