Opel may rebadge the Leapmotor B10 for Europe by 2026
Production could begin at Stellantis’ Zaragoza plant in Spain
In Germany we would say “Etikettenschwindel”.
Reusing a platform by another company and putting a modified body and different brand on it isn’t exactly a new thing.
Sure, this is true. Look at “MG” - was a British brand then an now it’s Chinese.
But the Chinese could proudly use there own brands: BYD, Xpeng, Xiaomi. Why do they imitate ours?
Customers should simply be aware that Opel isn’t a German brand anymore. This has nothing to do with German engineering. Unfortunately. - German brands are sold widely for cheap crap. Other examples: Dual, Grundig, Bose etc.
We should only name something “Made in EU” when it’s really produced in EU and never sell out our identity to China.
But that is, what happens.
… and the European car industry is doing that since a long time.
It is now like with a PC, if you buy one from, say, ALDI, you don’t expect ALDI do make the CPU or the motherboard themselves.
Great
