As a real life gay person, I’m not offended. I’ve seen and experienced real hate and I’m not seeing it here.

    Let’s break it all down:

“No, seriously. Flog that fucker as often as possible … write gay poetry about how gay your current job is … Congratulations! You’ve made it through one shift! Now do it all again in 12 hours. Welcome to the world of standing post, where sanity is a sliding scale.”

Not offensive. He’s not using “gay” in this comment to discriminate against anybody or to spread hate. He’s using the term “gay” in a way that was very, very common at the time; using “gay” to mean “stupid”. This is also not directed to a person or group of people.

“Pull into Bahrain in ’07 on a MEU, a Royal Navy submarine happens to be in port at the same time. … Before we even realize what’s going on, the other weird bastard just leans down and licks the damn thing from the bottom of the ballsack all the way up to the top of the dick. Stands up, looks dead at us and yells ‘BEAT THAT!’ … I proudly withdrew our team on the grounds that one cannot play gay chicken if one is actually gay.”

    Okay, and?

“I suppose some gay fellas still prefer holes as well. Party on top bros.”

Not offensive, this is an attempt at a joke and he’s not using “gay” in the pejorative sense.

“Betcha not a single downvoter is a real combat vet. Feel free to back it up with facts, fags.”

Many, many people who used the f-slur used it to spread real hate - this is not one of those instances.

“Officers are gay. Army or navy, I really don’t give a fuck about your frat.”

Not offensive, though I’m not a fan of people using sweeping generalizations accusing people of being “gay”, especially in place of other terms to describe people or things that they don’t like.

“This was the gayest (not in the fun dick sucking way) thing I’ve ever seen. This dude is literally everything I hate all rolled into one.”

I don’t feel he’s being completely serious and he seems to be using “gay” to mean “things I don’t like” again, but not referring to disliking gay people specifically. He’s joking, though of course it isn’t funny and it is confusing without the relevant context included by this article. Why did they fail to include the context in this instance?

“I like how our gay antics make him so uncomfortable he hates us. I’m doubling down on gay chicken next time in honor of this Air Force pussy.”

This dude clearly liked engaging in “gay antics” and playing “gay chicken” with the men he served with. He’s probably at least somewhat interested in the male body - otherwise he wouldn’t be playing chicken with his mates and openly sharing these experiences and his intentions to do it more.

I was hoping that this article would blow my mind, but this is just another hit piece. Do I approve of anybody using the f-slur or using the term “gay” in these ways? No, I don’t agree with these practices, but I don’t see any bad intentions or disapproval of people being gay from these comments.

Its more psyop outrage bullshit. The worst part is that you dont know if its coming from the republican side or the DNC. Schumer really wants his AIPAC, no healthcare candidate to win.

First a nazi tattoo and now this? Not looking good dude. He’s probably better off running on the GOP ticket at this point.

definitely, seems it was convenient for him to suddenly say hes sorry when has all these nazi tattos, and reddit nazi posts. and being with blackwater for a number of years too. if he had been doing something to help the persecuted communities, than something can be said differently. he suddenly came out of the woodwork, as a progressive"former nazi" something tells me hes either going to immediately switch parties or perform a fetterman. he would be better off campaigning as a GOP senator. seems like a candidate design to siphon voters away from a dem, or dem adjacent candidate, therby helping SUSAN collins.
