So no extra fee of you have a passport.

From the U.S. Department of State website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/passports/passports-realid.html The U.S. passport book and passport card are both REAL ID compliant.

So no extra fee of you have a passport.
I’ve always just considered a passport to be a Real ID™.
