The university is reviewing courses under new rules restricting teaching about race and gender. Administrators told a philosophy professor to cut some lessons on Plato to comply.
TL;DR; Plato is too woke for Republicans
Texas universities doing their best to make sure their graduates can’t get hired.
A&M is in a conservative county, and these orders come down from the State legislature. They didn’t care about Plato until the State ordered them to care, or else.
It’s pathetic that the University President, Chancellor, and Provost didn’t put up much of a fight, but let’s make sure we’re also assigning blame to the originators of this mess.
I have yet to see a Texas university put up a fight against this nonsense. Even University of Texas has been rolling over.
