Disclaimer: I have posted this originally in YSK, but as someone has kindly let me know, this should remain in the same state. I believe the original post on the web, where I got this link from, said that they are having trouble selling in person. So perhaps online purchases would be nice.
We are a Minneapolis 2nd grade Brownie Troop of 12 including trans and neurodiverse youth and 75% BIPOC kids. We want to go to summer camp and try horseback riding! During the current ICE occupation we need your support more than ever. In place of in person sales, we are leaning into handwritten thank you cards from online sales. Please help us make the world a better place, one cookie at a time!
I have no affiliation to them whatsoever. I do hope it’s okay to post this here, though.
I’m sure you mean well, but this can cause problems for them.
Traditionally, Girl Scout Troops are discouraged from selling cookies outside their geographic area so that the scouts in your location can sell their cookies. If you are selling to your friends and family, that’s considered okay, but scouts across the nation are selling cookies in the next few months and they all need support.
We tell people that supporting your local troop by buying cookies supports all of Girl Scouts.
Thanks for the info. In that case I think this belongs to a Minnesota community. I’ll delete this and post there :)
I’m a GS cookie snob and I might seriously buy a few from them and get them shipped because they have ABC Cookies, not Little Brownie cookies.
Not sure what I mean?
ABC: Peanut Butter Patties LB: Tagalongs
ABC: Caramel Delites LB: Samoas
Etc. Personally I strongly believe that ABC cookies are better. In particular, I think the PBP are a bit less sweet and have more peanut butter flavor than the Tagalongs. (Did I grow up selling and eating ABC? Yes…why do you ask?)
Wow I never knew this was even a thing and I never had ABC and now I am curious to try them just to see…
Rule 4.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind. That’s it.
OP:
“I have no affiliation to them whatsoever. I do hope it’s okay to post this here, though.”
fuck outta here
Hey, I have a great business proposition for you. Don’t worry, I’m not affiliated, I’m just advertising for free. It’s totally not a grift!
