Why YSK: This bot is constantly reposting reddit content to its own lemmy instance, lemmit.online. Most of it goes completely unnoticed and produces no discussion. If you like using All to find new communities, and sort by New, all you’ll see is this bot. Its highest upvoted post has 40 upvotes and 0 comments, and it has over 6 thousand posts. You can filter the spam by going to the bot’s profile and blocking it.
I blocked that thing when it first came out.
Lemmy isn’t reddit. This isn’t the way to grow a community.
Thanks for this post
Same here, we can build this community the old fashioned way by just sharing and engaging ❤️
i believe it was blocked by lemmy.world due to concerns lack of moderation (bot just spams reddit threads with no human intervention)
Neither of the links will load for me
/u/bot@lemmit.online is the correct link
Yeah it’s fucking annoying that people think they need to repost content from reddit to keep a community active
For those that do think that post here on lemmmy you numbskulls
It’s not even active. Every post I’ve seen has had 0 interaction.
I noticed it posting like r/buildapc stuff; folks asking questions about how motherboards work and such.
Like, I could see mirroring r/news or something where people are posting news articles. But technical questions? If anyone on Lemmy answers the question, the original author won’t read it.
I never actually used r/ideacancer for anything but I think I might just open a community for it.

I blocked all the Reddit communities and instances. Lemmy needs to be it’s own thing which require community involvement, not reposting shit posts from Reddit.
Thank you, kind internet stranger
Can’t get the profile to load (probably a Connect for Lemmy app or server load issue). What’s the bot’s username?

gotta start manual before botting, learn the rules, not all of them are written somewhere.
