Government admits Spy Clause can’t be used safely

Open Rights Group has responded to a report that the Government has conceded that it will not use powers to scan private messages until it is “technically feasible” to do so.

The government has stated it won’t use the powers granted in the Online Safety Bill to scan end-to-end encrypted messages until it’s ‘technically feasible’ to do so.

    It’s not just technically unfeasible, it’s logically unfeasible without fundamentally undermining encryption.
