TL;DR:
Crypto exchange Kraken says hackers are trying to extort them using videos that show internal systems with customer data. The breach came from two support employees (insider threat), not a system hack. No customer funds were at risk, and only ~2,000 accounts (0.02% of users) had limited support data exposed. Kraken will not pay, is working with law enforcement, and has enough evidence to prosecute. Similar to a 2025 Coinbase breach where hackers bribed support staff.
