I’ve had beers, ciders, and other alcohol before (Kahlua is great on ice cream). This was my first Smirnoff Ice (grape, if that matters). Why would I vomit up 3 hours later? It was just one bottle. Does SI just disagree with some folks?

Since I know you’ll worry, I feel much better for having emptied my stomach. I know I should have grabbed a towel as soon as I felt ill, but at least it’s my mess to deal with now. And my area carpet is washable and fits in the washing machine.

I’m not tempting fate and I’ve told my partner that the rest of the six pack is all his.

Have you specifically had smirnoff before? Or any vodka for that matter?

My mom is allergic to vodka, and she gets very ill if she accidently has any. Any other alcohol is fine, only vodka causes issues.

    Could just be that simple.

I’ve had vodka before, but never Smirnoff and never a whole bottle’s worth, just minis/nips, mixed into other things. So maybe it’s a quantity thing. I’ll watch out for vodka. Thank you.

That’s curious about your mother. I’m pretty sure she would have to be allergic to one (or more) of the ingredients used to make the vodka, which would typically be some type of grain. Otherwise she would be allergic to (more likely, intolerant of) anything containing ethanol.
