I remember sitting with my son at his high school graduation, with a solid A average, watching the top 10 highest grade point average kids get awards. He whispered to me “Every one of those kids is a notorious cheater, and EVERYONE knows it, including the teachers. I could have been one of them, but I refused to cheat.”

He’s now 27, and super smart. He reads literature for fun, and just finished Moby Dick. He’s reading Nabokov now. He’s gone back to college to get a more useful degree, and is easily the most accomplished student in every class he takes.

He might not have graduated at the top of his high school class, but he got something better - an actual education.
