The NCAA lost another legal battle Friday as a federal judge barred the organization from enforcing its rules prohibiting name, image and likeness compensation for recruits by granting a preliminary injunction demanded by the states of Tennessee and Virginia.

It was another blow to the NCAA’s ability to govern college sports and more than 500,000 athletes.

The problem is that is not entirely true. The big programs take in millions. But the hundreds of smaller schools lose money on athletics. It is usually expensed as marketing. It ultimately gets paid by students via tuition or taxpayers.

The real answer IMO is creating a minor league like baseball for both football and basketball. If you are good enough to get paid then go get paid. Otherwise go play college.
