    If this legislation is passed, what is stopping oil companies from just charging more at Vermont (or any other state that does this in the future) gas stations to offset costs?

    EDIT: Why are you down voting? I’m generally asking.

      Charging more could (potentially) lead to less oil being used, so it could (potentially) lead to more renewable energy sources

        Potentially, that’s great, but I don’t think people would notice if it was 10 to 20 cents difference per gallon and in that case the oil company still wins.
