    My first reaction was… who?

But I think that’s the point. He’s a nobody yes-man who won’t exercise any influence that could challenge Trump. Learned that lesson with the last pick, who wouldn’t even commit some light treason to illegally keep Trump in power.

I think you underestimate how well-known he is, especially to Republicans. He is definitely a Trump yes-man and always has been, but he is not an unknown at all.

Maybe not “always has been,” as at one point he said Trump would be “America’s Hitler.”

But unlike most of us who would probably not want to work for someone you personally think could be Hitler, he’s done the normal GOP thing and flipped right over for the game of it all.

Apparently most of these are from 2016, which feels like a fucking life time ago. Had to look up the time-line of his “career”.

He came to prominence with his 2016 memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, which describes his upbringing in Middletown and his family’s Appalachian values. It became a New York Times bestseller and attracted significant press attention during the 2016 United States presidential election. Originally, Vance was a critic of Trump and in 2016 wrote a critical piece in The Atlantic against him, but he later came to support him. Vance launched his first political campaign for Ohio’s Senate seat in 2021 and won the Republican nomination after being endorsed by Trump. He defeated Democratic nominee Tim Ryan in the general election.

Maybe he meant it in a good way.

He’s a completely corrupt piece of shit that I’m sure they didn’t vet properly since Trump gets what he wants, so expect all kinds of skeletons to start coming out. Could even be some literal ones.

A whole network of family and friends stepped in to raise him when his parents fell apart, and the generosity of scholarships and government grants for the economically disadvantaged paid his way through a Yale education, all so he could turn around and write a book about how poor people are actually lazy and just need to tug those bootstraps harder and start hitting their kids again

Must be nice to ‘suck off the state’s teat’ then boot all those climbing behind you into the abyss.

          They’re all assholes.

          Every. Fucking. One. Of. Them.

This dude seems to be pretty sharp and is a huge threat. Him and his Peter Theil buddies are working hard to outright destroy democracy. I wouldn’t write this guy off as a yes-man.

Look no further than J.D. Vance’s statements about trump, you will see a very clear disdain and disapproval of Trump and then suddenly, very pro Trump. Happens every time with these fascists.

Hopefully, my state can now choose someone else who isn’t a dumbass. Or at least less of one.

Also, loving this decision for the likes of Marje Green who has been doing all those pony tricks in hopes of Trump choosing her and she still didn’t get it.

Is he resigning his seat to run for VP? Because he doesn’t have to, I think. And if he loses and didn’t resign his seat, then you’re stuck with him.

And he’s from Middletown, so this explains a lot of why he’s attached himself to Trump’s tiny penis.

Brings me back to like 10 years ago when my political friends almost convinced me I should read his book. Glad I didn’t

It actually is a good book. As someone from the same general area, I saw a lot of my own family and experiences reflected in his writing. I had hopes that he might step up and push for more of a class-conscious republican party until he turned out to be a fascist tool.
