The US was literally founded by taking the land of another group of people who were there first.
So was pretty much every other modern country.
Yes, we took the land from the British, the French, the Spanish, and more recently from the Russians, and made a kickass country out of it.
Did you maybe forget a very significant group?
Oh, like the natives? You could even call them Native Americans, if you wanted.
Nothing terribly significant, the Dutch held quite a lot of territory around what is NYC, but they had long since packed up before the Revolutionary War.
