God damnit, I’m trying to remember the title of a LN that was more or less the exact same thing as this show. Oblivious guy from some super village can do everything and never once got wise that he’s overpowered because of his internal misunderstandings and inherent low self esteem while there’s not a single side character who can say something like “yo, you’re actually super strong”. That schtick in that LN grew stale extremely fast so I don’t expect much from this Bell Cranel version.
Are you talking about “Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town?” or a different version of the same story? lol
Yes, that was the one. Funny for about 3/4 of a volume and then increasingly annoying.
Pretty standard kicked-from-the-hero’s-party wish fulfillment slop. It feels a lot like it’s trying to be Last Dungeon Boonies (but with trade skills), but it’s just a bit lacking. I give the premiere a 3/5.
A good start, but we’ll have to see if there’s more than one joke.
So far, it is your typical
- Main character is absurdly OP
- but is unaware of it
- Got kicked out of high ranked party
- life got better for the main character
- and worse for his former party (we haven’t see this yet)
The animation quality is decent and the execution seems okay for the first episode. Let’s see if they can make the absurdity humor work.
Kurt was lucky to have met Yulishia who was an adventurer formerly serving directly under the royal family and had some powerful connections, who recognizes his OP-ness while not taking advantage of him.
Done!
As far as guilty pleasures go, this looks nice.
