I feel the show is missing the same thing as her manga in the beginning there. A plot hook. After the first episode I’m willing to just file this under trying a quick tourism cash grab after seeing the secondary effects of Yuru Camp. It is missing the charm of Yuru Camp though. I’ll give it one more episode to see where they are going with it, but otherwise it’s a drop even though I consume a lot of Japanese travel shows.

It feels like this is aiming for chill and soothing, but it definitely lands in boring for me. We didn’t get a lot from our main character this episode, and it seemed like Aizu itself was the star of the show. I’m not sure i see the appeal of watching someone else experience a location, but I guess travel content is enjoyable for some people, so maybe this just isn’t made for me. I give the premiere a 2/5.
