“Yeah I struggle to grasp on daily basis how your average American doesn’t understand that this guy is an aggressive liar. Practically everything the man says is bullshit yet here we are 8 years later still being duped.”

Donald Trump is the most obvious liar and egomaniac since year 2013. It is blatant, it is obvious, it is clear as day, it is documented.
-
Understanding the Problem Assertion 1: The problem is not Donald Trump. One liar “Big Shot” who plays golf and spends time with his family retired in Florida on the golf course and goes and hangs out with his buddies is nothing special for a man age 70 and older.
-
Understanding the Problem Assertion 2: The problem is We The People, the population of society. “MASS PSYCHOSIS - How an Entire Population Becomes MENTALLY ILL”
-
How did this happen? Assertion 3: A 1985 book by Neil Postman, Manhattan / New York University Professor (Donald Trump’s Home Town) predicted all this for America’s future. On February 2, 2017 his son Andrew Postman confirmed that Donald Trump was what his father’s book was ultimately about.
“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back. So the old bamboozles tend to persist as the new ones rise.” ― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark, 1995

Most modern day US presidents are liars. Case and point, very few of them have fulfilled their campaign promises.
Most modern day US presidents are liars. Case and point, very few of them have fulfilled their campaign promises.
The American People, We The People, since Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan have consistently flocked to manipulators and liars. You see this all over social media in April 2025, how many flock to anonymous no-identity social media content creators, Joe Rogan as intelligent and smart, Rupert Murdoch media systems such as Fox News, and of course the White House has shown this time and time again.
Neil Postman documented this in his 1985 book when Ronald Reagan was incredibly popular and people desired being deceived and manipulated by someone trained on entertainment techniques of Hollywood.
published 40 years ago: “Politics, he tells him, is the greatest spectator sport in America. In 1966, Ronald Reagan used a different metaphor. “Politics,” he said, “is just like show business.”” ― Neil Postman, Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business, 1985 !BackTo1985@lemm.ee
Most modern day US presidents are liars.
people don’t resist Rupert Murdoch Fox News 24 hours a day, why would they resist a corporate president / CEO like Elon Musk or a businessman like Donald Trump?
The picture becomes clear when you look at all the current and past US presidents that are part of secret societies.
https://anonfamous.substack.com/p/the-secret-societies-of-all-45-us
BTW, Trump may not have been involved with secret societies, but his uncle John Trump I believe, was part of the intelligence community who took all of Nickola Tesla’s work and buried it. He has ties to the deep state.

I don’t believe that “secret societies” have any “magic abilities”. Everyday people are clearly capable of learning and studying media ecology and understating how symbolism works. Because people choose to look at Lemmy front page of kitten and puppy photographs and dumb as fuck memes does not mean people could not be spending their time learning how religions, cults, and symbolism works on crowds and minds.
I think people bow down to predicable things, like Mecca in Saudi Arabia systems. I don’t view this as supernatural or magical. Teachers like Joseph Campbell at Sarah Lawrence College for women have openly published, George Lucas of Star Wars fame even educated his audience on how it works - but people rather spend their time mocking Donald Trump’s orange facial cosmetics and poopy diapers and study a book and video series on “Power of Mythology”.
when you look at all the current and past US presidents that are part of secret societies.
Do you believe these “secret societies” have some magic secret or special revelations or power that we don’t know about and are capable of learning and analyzing?

“The nature of psychological compulsion is such that those who act under constraint remain under the impression that they are acting on their own initiative. The victim of mind-manipulation does not know that he is a victim. To him the walls of his prison are invisible, and he believes himself to be free. That he is not free is apparent only to other people. His servitude is strictly objective.” ― Aldous Huxley, Brave New World and Brave New World RevisitedI don’t know if they have “magical” secrets, but logically, there is enough there to suggest they have a common enough bond and connection to these societies, many very exclusive for entry, to question the voting system, and the picks.

North America is not the only place on Earth. We can study every nation in the world, we can study every religion in the world, it has never been easier to use the Public Library to see how people rule and manipulate each other. I personally moved to North Africa, Algeria, to study Islam systems of mental manipulation in 2010 for $1,400. I moved to Amman Jordan in March 2011 to study the Syria war outbreak and how religions manipulate people and how media ecology works / Internet memes, for $1,800 (financial dependent included in cost) and lived for 2 years for like $30 a day in Amman… had WiFi and able to work from home just like USA where I’ve worked from home since 1999.
The field of study is called “Comparative Mythology”. It isn’t a secret how it works. George Lucas of Star Wars fame even informed his entire audience in 1986, 1987, 1988 - but nobody cares, all they want is dumb-as-fuck memes on the front page of Lemmy, Bluesky, and Reddit - People can quote every line and fact about the props and filming locations from Star Wars films, but nobody can quote anything from the Sarah Lawrence College professor that George Lucas told the audience to listen to in 1986, 1987, 1988.

There are no secrets! How much MORE FAMOUS can you be than White House director Bill Moyers, George Lucas filming???
JOSEPH CAMPBELL: We need myths that will identify the individual not with his local group but with the planet. A model for that is the United States. Here were thirteen different little colony nations that decided to act in the mutual interest, without disregarding the individual interests of any one of them.
BILL MOYERS: There is something about that on the Great Seal of the United States.
JOSEPH CAMPBELL: That’s what the Great Seal is all about. I carry a copy of the Great Seal in my pocket in the form of a dollar bill. Here is the statement of the ideals that brought about the formation of the United States. Look at this dollar bill. Now here is the Great Seal of the United States. Look at the pyramid on the left. A pyramid has four sides. These are the four points of the compass. There is somebody at this point, there’s somebody at that point, and there’s somebody at this point. When you’re down on the lower levels of this pyramid, you will be either on one side or on the other. But when you get up to the top, the points all come together, and there the eye of God opens.
BILL MOYERS: And to them it was the god of reason [non-instrumental reason thinking in the human brain/mind].
JOSEPH CAMPBELL: Yes. This is the first nation in the world that was ever established on the basis of reason instead of simply warfare. These were eighteenth-century deists, these gentlemen. Over here we read, “In God We Trust.” But that is not the god of the Bible. These men did not believe in a Fall. They did not think the mind of man was cut off from God. The mind of man, cleansed of secondary and merely temporal concerns, beholds with the radiance of a cleansed mirror a reflection of the rational mind of God. Reason puts you in touch with God. Consequently, for these men, there is no special revelation anywhere, and none is needed, because the mind of man cleared of its fallibilities is sufficiently capable of the knowledge of God. All people in the world are thus capable because all people in the world are capable of reason.
All men are capable of reason. That is the fundamental principle of democracy. Because everybody’s mind is capable of true knowledge, you don’t have to have a special authority, or a special revelation telling you that this is the way things should be.
BILL MOYERS: And yet these symbols come from mythology.
JOSEPH CAMPBELL: Yes, but they come from a certain quality of mythology. It’s not the mythology of a special revelation. The Hindus, for example, don’t believe in special revelation. They speak of a state in which the ears have opened to the song of the universe. Here the eye has opened to the radiance of the mind of God. And that’s a fundamental deist idea. Once you reject the idea of the Fall in the Garden, man is not cut off from his source.

Imagine America is an institution for the mentally feeble and it will suddenly make complete sense.
Imagine America is an institution for the mentally feeble and it will suddenly make complete sense.
Not sure where you have lived, but I’ve lived in an RV in USA since 1999 in over 25 cities.
I’ve also lived in Algeria, North Africa. I’ve lived in Europe, in Cyprus. I’ve lived in South America, in Arica Chile. I’ve lived in the Middle East in Amman Jordan. I’ve lived in Bali Indonesia. I’ve lived in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. I am not wealthy, I have no children and I worked from home since 1999 (often with my wife, dual income, no children) and I pay basically the same as renting an apartment in an inexpensive city like Fort Wayne, Indiana… living on $1,000/month back in 2001 and say $1,500 a month in Austin Texas back in 2009… before it got too expensive and I left there at end of 2010 to go to Africa.
Imagine America is an institution for the mentally feeble and it will suddenly make complete sense.
Imagine the entire world who adopted social media found junk information and one-line insults to be far more popular and attractive than authentic book learning and study of non-fiction films and content. That people were more attracted to advertising and Reality TV stars as leaders of their nation than sincere, honest educated people. This problem isn’t only the USA. This was how I was able to predict the Arab Spring from Austin Texas in December 2009 and was there in North Africa boots on the ground December 3, 2010 before Tunisia went from a online-only resolution to a “hot revolution” that became world famous.

“Ignorance is king. Many would not profit by his abdication. Many enrich themselves by means of his dark monarchy. They are his Court, and in his name they defraud and govern, enrich themselves and perpetuate their power. Even literacy they fear, for the written word is another channel of communication that might cause their enemies to become united. Their weapons are keen-honed, and they use them with skill. They will press the battle upon the world when their interests are threatened, and the violence which follows will last until the structure of society as it now exists is leveled to rubble, and a new society emerges. I am sorry. But that is how I see it.” ― Walter M. Miller Jr., A Canticle for LeibowitzNot sure where you have lived,
I have lived in 7 countries, and you’re correct: the entire world is dumbing down. But I found nowhere as fast as in the United States. Also, it matters more because the US is (still) the richest country and the most powerful military power in the world.
I found nowhere as fast as in the United States.
That’s because USA created social media systems first, ASCII before Unicode, etc. The rest of the world didn’t get social media until after the USA. We Lost Control of educating social media computer users in September 1993, and it laid the foundation for Russia to win the Hybrid War online / on Reddit / Lemmy / Facebook / YouTube / Twitter / etc.
Americans will believe anything off a computer screen / Apple iPhone / Apple iPad / Lemmy system. Extreme problem we have with media ecology literacy. I teach it over on !MediaEcology@lemm.ee
Donald Trump’s November 2012 plan to mind-fuck the entire world with the Kremlin / Putin / Russia and Cambridge Analytica using Reddit, Twitter, news comment sections of computer screens was a master-stroke (100 years leap ahead of Edward Bernays methods, adding in Surkov methods too), along with Elon Musk purchasing Twitter to win all “hearts and minds” in 2022, and their self-destruction of the USA (and probably the entire world) is likely unstoppable.

It has nothing to do with social media, and it predates it by decades, as demonstrated by this famous Genesis song.
It has nothing to do with social media
Trivialize all of Neil Postman’s work on education and media ecology, trivialize all of Marshall McLuhan and James Joyce’s work. It has everything to how you just used social media of Lemmy to give the simplistic Donald Trump kind of possible dismissal. And Ronald Reagan was in power in 1985 and Neil Postman explained all that.
World Religions are a media issue, there is no supernatural, it’s all fiction storytelling, like Fox News is fiction storytelling and Lemmy bullshit is fiction storytelling.
I suggest you study some of the information over in !MassBrainDamage@lemm.ee on group behaviors, Mass Psychosis, etc.
yeah I stop to wonder this myself how we got here every few weeks or so. It just hits me like a mac truck, like how the fuck did this happen not once but twice? what the fuck, guys?
like how the fuck did this happen not once but twice? what the fuck, guys?
You aren’t the only one who keeps wondering how it keeps happening. Here’s another line of terminology and ideas on why…
