Which is to say, Lemmy isn’t quite ready for that many users but it’ll get there. Once it gets better moderation tools, instance mirroring, ability to transfer accounts between instances, and other QOL improvements then it will be more prepared for the average user.
This is what Cory Doctorow calls “enshittification”, and it’s part of the reason I’m on Mastodon and Lemmy now.
I’m glad these corporations are finally starting to reveal their corporate interests. Hopefully more people will wake up and jump ship.
