We knew how bad the situation was economically but we also knew sanctions would have a much delayed effect. Economists have explained that plenty back when it seemed sanctions wouldn’t do much at first. As far as I’m aware, Russia transformed into a full on war economy since. That delayed things even further but it will make the fallout even worse for the country. Putin really doesn’t care if Russia even still exists when he goes down.

On one hand this is an elegant solution that is already in use in Germany for years, if companies want to implement it that is. But I think only Sony’s Playstore uses it. Or so I have heard. And it almost makes sense for the Netherlands. Almost. They have amazing infrastructure. Their world class cycling lanes are pretty much disconnected from roads for the most part and even their highways are very decently lit at night. Then again, allowing Teslas to self drive isn’t the kind of mindset that got them there in the first place and I won’t be surprised when Teslas still fail under these stellar conditions.

Called it and this is just the beginning. There won’t be done anything meaningful about it in most countries either.

My point was to de facto criminalize billionaires. The law would state you are not allowed to own this much. Full stop. People would very quickly see obscene wealth much more critically if it was a crime.
