I have a mini PC with a terabyte of storage I might leverage.

That’s the thing, people don’t think before commenting.
I still see Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/BuyFromEU.
You can comment but I think it’s just “Hidden” idk
I was spamming that sub quite a bit to help guide people to lemmy. But a warning would have been appropriate, not a ban and removal of my post.
Aaaand it’s gone, and I’ve been banned from the sub.
got 80,000 views and 1300 upvotes before is disappeared though, so I see that as a win, I’m sure a few people signed up.

To be fair, I was spamming should have read the rules better, a warning would have been nice.
Fair but when you’re using mobile apps like Voyager or Sync you just get a error and don’t understand why
67k views and 1000 upvotes in ~3 hours. Let’s GOOO
It will come with time, if possible be the change you want to see. I’m trying to grow the South African sub.
It might take years but 🤷♂️
Need to be low key about it, promote Lemmy here and there. Could be a fun side project for people to help with.
I think swearing is good if not overused.
I’ve heard studies show that people who swear are trusted more, something about them coming across more open and genuine.
Thanks I fixed it

Yea unfortunately a clean easy url matters
That’s why I couldn’t upload images, the UI on mobile never gave me an error explaining this, it would be good to better make users aware of this.
a big driving force is r/BuyFromEU with 150k active subs and r/BuyCanadian with 300k
They’re trying to move away from US products, including tech.
Also the Luigi censorship as mentioned.
Now is a good time to comment something like this on those subs to help guide people.
Try out the European-Hosted Reddit alternative, Lemmy
It also has a Mobile-App
I use it alongside Reddit, and I’m enjoying it more and more, slowly switching over
One of the reasons I use this snippet below to promote Lemmy is that it defaults to lemm.ee and users don’t run into descision fatigue when picking an instance

It would be nice if it could also default to eg. sh.itjust.works and other generalist instances
What’s the community called if we may ask?
Let us help you move it over to Lemmy, and take over mod responsibilities
I get you’re angry, but I don’t think this is the best way to get people to try out Lemmy
I’ve created an account with your referral thanks.
I’m checking out the service, but I’ll probably self host if I like it since I already have a mini-PC i host stuff on.
