  • Ummm, no dude. This is just civics if you don’t understand the mechanics behind passing legislation, you will never get what you want. You seem to think there’s some magical element involved, where legislation should automatically match public opinion…but the truth is, you have to actually run candidates that share your opinion to represent you in Congress, in order for them to vote the way you want them to.

If you aren’t willing to do the work to make government match your expectations, then you shouldn’t be surprised when things don’t go your way. It’s literally the definition of insanity to expect different outcomes, without altering any of the variables.

  • How do some folks get so passionate about politics, but still know nothing about how their own government works?

Only half the Democrats in the House supported it, so it was never going to pass. Not unless more than half of Republicans decided to rebel against their own party and join Progressives. And that’s not even including the Senate vote.

The only way Medicare for All is ever going to happen, is if every single Democrat in the House AND the Senate all unanimously vote for it…while they have control of BOTH houses…and a president in office that isn’t going to veto it.

Anything less than that, and all this bellyaching about holding a vote on it, is literally just a waste of time.
