We had a solution for that though. Things like the carbon tax would have had a meaningful impact. And then the libs managed to make it toxic so it can’t be reintroduced

Yeah. And honestly, way land already works fine (even screen sharing). Waydroid is a bit of a killer app too (but needs more refinement,).
There’s a lot of problems with nuclear
We know it’s expensive, and it takes so long to build that if that’s the only plan, it makes no sense not to install solar. So ultimately my the time it is built, it will be even less economical
Same problems as coal. You can’t simply turn it on. It can take hours. That’s part of the reason for recent blackout in Vic (turbines need to sync up same speed and phase as the grid or they shit themselves, and that can take hours). Solar/batteries take 100ms and will always get the contract. Cheaper too…
It’s still centralized so power in rural areas will still be crap. If you put batteries and solar in those areas though and treat them as microgrids, everyone will have more reliable power. They can stop whining about their blackouts
The cost of solar and batteries right now is irrelevant. In 15 years by the time this plant is built, based on the current price drops, i think I calculated that batteries and solar are 66% - 90% cheaper. It would be stupid to think this technology doesn’t drop in cost, and improve in efficiency.
We have a lot of space here in Australia for solar. So, energy density doesn’t matter like many countries.
Instead of wasting all this gd money on nuclear, they should be using it to build manufacturing factories for lithium batteries and solar.
Nuclear doesn’t solve any real issues here in Australia.
Gimp runs in windows. The security thing isn’t really true (X11 isn’t secure and it can’t be fixed apparently)
In fact, as others have said, really bad comparison…
I tried it. Gave up and moved to regular fedora at the end. I didn’t see any real benefits personally
I did like many of the ideas, like gamescope is built in. But I think I had minor issues
Yeah. Biden said after “it’s hard to win a debate against a liar”.
If you’ve ever argued with someone on Facebook, it’s the same. Because it doesn’t matter what you say, they’ll simply claim you are lying and it’s easy to make up bullshit. Coming up with facts, supporting them and recalling your policies is a lot harder.
Whereas, Trump doesn’t need to worry about his policies. He just makes them up and throws in racism.
Trump wanted everyone to know he is a racism piece of shit. If anything, that was his only policy . I’ve never seen someone be so racist
What’s weird is that you hear Biden on different mics soon after, he sounded fine, so I think the mics may have needed adjusting too. But maybe the rules dictated both levels were the same or something
It wasn’t a great debate, but I’ve had a brainfart when talking too before.
Also, the policy is what matters. What matters is also that Biden obviously was doing the right thing. Just because he doesn’t scream at people doesn’t mean he’s not a good choice still.
Whereas Trump was clearly obviously lying constantly
I disagree… The problem actually is that Wayland is optional, and still is.
So everyone was dragging their heels (and some still are). If all the major distro’s set a cut off date, then things would speed up. The biggest reason for delay was Nvidia imho, so now that they’re sorted, it seems things are falling into place faster.
X11 still hasn’t solved any of their real issues, and its still a security nightmare (which can’t be fixed). Furthermore, most of the developers have moved off it.
What exactly do you like about X11?
I actually disagree. I feel it’s best to use for languages you’re good with, because it tends to introduce very subtle bugs which can be very difficult to debug, and code which looks accurate about isn’t. If you’re not totally familiar with the language, it can be even harder
My workmate literally used copilot to fix a mistake in our websocket implementation today.
It made one line of change… turned it it made the problem worse
I remember when they got rid of the old WRX design. I thought the new ones looked stupid.
But they were right. Now when you look at the old ones they look cringe
Even cars like the Nissan cube and the CJ cruiser honestly my opinions have totally changed
Probably same reason as here in Australia.
The gas companies have managed to create a multifaceted cult where they’ve brainwashed people into thinking electricity is unclean (despite things like heat pumps being 500% efficient), unreliable and expensive.
Also, it helps that people who paid too much for their ICE cars are scared and they know that their cars will increasingly drop in value as people transition away from gas and fossil fuels.
I hope you need a 500mb driver to use it too with an installer that pops up every reboot, even if you press cancel.
Otherwise, it’s clear that it fails at being a mouse
If only we weren’t stuck with lots of toxic wankers here in Australia who genuinely are in love with coal
When you do finally drive, you’ll find that having a GPS and such is awesome.
If you’re paranoid to that extent, you’re better off getting an old car honestly. But trust me, nobody cares about tracking your car, and there are so many licence plate readers here in Australia you’re not really anonymous anyway
I don’t remember ever seeing a construction site here in Australia which generated power using a generator. Most of them simply run a temporary power connection
I’ve been to so many at this point
Even if there is no legal entities in Russia though, they might have remote workers
Not really honestly. I think their concerns were valid until they investigated.
Everyone thinks it’s easy to ignore legal demands. But there is a reason why most abuse isn’t reported to police.
I believe their story honestly
I seriously didn’t realize this was meant to be a secret?
Trump still can’t say “China” without saying it in a really weird tone because he’s used to saying “China flu” with emphasis on China.
You can’t help but think that a big component of the depression/doom feeling a lot of the experienced at the time was indirectly related to things Trump did
I think I tried emudeck and it wouldn’t install. But that wasn’t their issue (turned out to be a regression upstream).
I think I had stuttering sound in audio too. But that’s via HDMI.
Spdif no issue
I also used another gaming distro though so might be confusing them
They should absolutely keep developing it. It will only get better, and I’m a unique case because I’ve been using Linux probably since 1998 or so.
But I feel they make things a bit more custom, and it will only get better. It has a lot of potential, and is probably the best option already for many people
