Maybe with windows. On linux i spent a solid few hours on it before giving up.

There is uYou+ but its not on the appstore so its pretty much impossible to install

Just a note for people wanting to install it:

The only official website is www.revanced.app and www.github.com/revanced , all other websites are unoffincial and can sometimes spread malware. Unfortunetley the official site has terrible SEO and shows up very low in search results. Also the revanced team dosen’t distibute prebuilt apks for copyright reasons, you have to patch the stock apk yourself.

On one hand preventing kids from developing a social media addiciton is good. On the other this law will probably cause a lot of issues. Some issues that i can think of on the spot are:

1. How exactly do you verify age. Kids can just lie about it and social media platforms requiring a national ID is a stupidly bad idea just from the privacy concerns. I don’t want every website to have my ID because:

   A. This would make tracking people between platforms much easier.

   B. One data leak from one website and milions of people have their govt IDs available on-line along with names, phone numbers, e-mail addreses and possibly even addresses (from billing information) and answers to security questions (from posts)

2. I’m worried that this will cause a lot of social media platforms to go the way that youtube went, ie. no NSFW, swearing or anything even remotly not kid-friendly.

You do need a google accout to log in with revanced because its still the normal app, its just patched to remove ads, add sponsorblock and a lot of other stuff.

PS: Revanced isn’t a fork of vanced, its an independant project with simmilar goals and a simmilar name.

Youtube tried blocking revanced a few months ago and the team just pushed an update to fix it. Youtube is gonna try to block it but its gonna be a sepparete thing from blocking alblockers in a browser.

Unfortunetly google is stupid and shows fake websites as the top result, with the official one beeing way down the search results.

I think a pi hole dosen’t work for youtube ads.

Piholes rely on blocking DNS requests to ad servers, but on youtube the servers that host the videos and the servers that host the ads are the same thing.
