Annnnnd this is exactly why we need the carbon tax.

Just wanted to hit the point harder since it’s not kind of spread out, it’s super spread out. Which is super frustrating because it’s causing a lot of issues.
You have to wonder how bad it needs to get for the fervent among the deniers to come around.
Given our experience with COVID I’m guessing there’s a sizable chunk who could be on their death bed still clinging to their ignorance.
It’s crazy to me that some schools don’t even have ac. Mini splits are cheap as hell. From an email I got recently:
Provincially, the percentage of schools with more than 25% air conditioning coverage is 44%. Since 2017, the OCDSB has made considerable progress improving the cooling systems in our schools:
70% of schools have air conditioning in some or all learning spaces (an increase from 41% in 2017) 25% are partially air conditioned to varying levels, but not in classrooms 5% of schools have no central air conditioning (a drop from 34% in 2017).
Thank you for your service! One of the best things to come out of the pandemic IMO.
I don’t know how much the ring was worth, but that picture and story are probably pretty close
Thanks for that. I get that she’s academically accomplished but I’m more interested in her political accomplishments. Like others have mentioned she is not a great public speaker and I haven’t been particularly impressed by her budgets…
Honest question, why do you think that? I’ve never been impressed by her, but I’m likely missing a lot.
Seriously, the guy it tone deaf. Only reason he became popular is because of people who got fucked by the housing market. Now he sides with people claiming capital gains > 250k in a year? Really?
Guy should really lean into the “night mayor” moniker. Just show up at bars around town in some sort of costume just yelling at people “I AM THE NIGHT MAYOR!” in his best batman voice.
Otherwise the job just seem like a bit of a… night-mare? 😁
Really under-selling the sprawl here:
I still can’t believe that a Catholic school board is even a thing. So gross.
And with most of that money going to fund affordable housing initiatives, yeah sorry Matt, sounds like the program is working great.
This Matt Luloff sounds like a bit of a goof to me on this one.
I have immune issues, yeah.
But even outside of that, long COVID is a real threat. Not to mention they also tracked RSV and the flu as well. A new more virulent variant could pop up and it would be great to have that tracked, there’s also the bird flu etc. Hospitals considered it actionable data as well to plan staffing around severity of Flu/RSV season as well.
If there was just one good thing that came out of the pandemic this was it IMO (should have been remote work, but apparently the Feds would rather sacrifice the health of their workforce and the planet to prop up OC Transpo, and businesses who refuse to adapt).
Seems like stagflation is a very real concern at this point.
FED talking about raising rates, BoC cutting them - what could go wrong?
Fully baked in? Bond market dropped quite a bit this week, and .1 just today:
Already contacted the Premiers office (as pointless as it seems): https://correspondence.premier.gov.on.ca/EN/feedback/default.aspx and will be calling them tomorrow as well: 416-325-1941. Will also be calling the Ministry of the Environment which made the announcement at: 416-314-6790
It’s just severely limited in terms of the number of sites being sampled. They are talking about adding a few more sites, but it’s sounding like it’ll still be much less that will cause big gaps in the data.
And to do this at a time where we have new viruses that are cause for concern? Even the US is expanding their waste water testing. It’s incredibly cost efficient to test this way vs testing and processing results from individuals.
You have no idea how many cases of Monster I can fit in the bed bro.
