A bisexual nonbinary poster of memes and other things • They/Any

I don’t think the original source for this exists anymore. I think I found it last year. But the account I suspect to be the artist has been deleted since then.
Most stuff on here doesn’t have to be content warned. The warning is for assuming the gender of the viewer not for the target audience for the meme. For example, a meme saying “you are a girl” needs a CW while a comic about a girl saying how much she loves being a girl doesn’t. The posts needing those warnings are fairly rare.
I don’t think I’ve seen anything that would need the other CW posted here to begin with.
I’m also not a very active moderator. I’m only checking here about once a day and I’m usually more concerned with comments since that has historically been where the issues have been. This community doesn’t have a lot of activity and has largely been supplanted by others on this server.
From description of the Great Old One pact:
The Great Old One might be unaware of your existence or entirely indifferent to you, but the secrets you have learned allow you to draw your magic from it
Patrons can have whatever motivation or lack of motivation the DM wants. I personally like there being some kind of RPing effect. Maybe some task you have to complete, punishment for acting against your patron, slowly eroding sanity. But none of that is necessary.
It’s very much not okay. In general, imposing labels on people is a bad thing. Doesn’t matter how much better someone thinks they know, people get to explore their identities in their own way and at their own pace.
When I see someone imposing the egg or trans label I generally point them to the egg prime directive here.
When someone is just told they are trans, that opens ground for denial; it activates defense mechanisms built by internalized transphobia, and it has a high probability of pushing them further into the closet, if not making them outright transphobic. Even when it doesn’t, it leaves ground for their own subconscious to reject their dysphoria, claiming that they were just manipulated or deceived. The much more effective strategy is to talk about your own experiences with dysphoria so that they see the common grounds and come to their own conclusion about their gender. The code doesn’t forbid helping them to explore their gender; it forbids assigning a gender to them. Or, to put it more succinctly, you cannot be told what the Matrix is; you can only be shown.
As to why some people don’t follow that. Either they don’t know better, in which case educating them should fix it, or they are simply [epithet of your choice here]. Any community of sufficient size will have bad actors in it.
How are you tracking them to other sites? There’s not really anything that links a user account to an actual person in the data that gets federated.
This is the oldest source I can find. Now that I’m looking it is taged #my art.
I love this one too. I do wonder how my past-selves would react to me. There was definitely some internalized transphobia I had to deconstruct in my realization. I’m not sure how I would of reacted if I was forced to confront my trans-ness before I was ready.
This might be my favorite version of this trope. The knowing look from the future-self. The nervous confusion from the past-self.
From world creation to breakfast creation.
I was kind of thinking something similar. How close would you be willing to physically get to him knowing that at any moment there might be an assassination attempt?
If you want to see how weird it can get look at blightsight. Your consciousness can be blind but your body can still react to visual stimulus.
You are kind of hitting on one of the issues I see. The model and the works created by the model may b considered two separate things. The model itself may not be infringing in of itself. It’s not actually substantially similar to any of the individual training data. I don’t think anyone can point to part of it and say this is a copy of a given work. But the model may be able to create works that are infringing.
That is not actually one of the criteria for fair use in the US right now. Maybe that’ll change but it’ll take a court case or legislation to do.
NPR reported that a “top concern” is that ChatGPT could use The Times’ content to become a “competitor” by “creating text that answers questions based on the original reporting and writing of the paper’s staff.”
That’s something that can currently be done by a human and is generally considered fair use. All a language model really does is drive the cost of doing that from tens or hundreds of dollars down to pennies.
To defend its AI training models, OpenAI would likely have to claim “fair use” of all the web content the company sucked up to train tools like ChatGPT. In the potential New York Times case, that would mean proving that copying the Times’ content to craft ChatGPT responses would not compete with the Times.
A fair use defense does not have to include noncompetition. That’s just one factor in a fair use defense and the other factors may be enyon their own.
I think it’ll come down to how “the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes” and “the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole;” are interpreted by the courts. Do we judge if a language model by the model itself or by the output itself? Can a model itself be uninfringing and it still be able to potentially produce infringing content?
My go to with all projects like this is if it worth it if ends up it’s just you doing it for yourself. 99% of these projects attract no one but their creators.
So if you want to make a wiki for your own reference or to be able to link to in relevant conversation or for whatever reason you want to for yourself, and accept that no one else may not contribute or even care, go for it. If you just want this to exist but not put in the effort, you are probably better off seeing if someone else is doing something similar.
Yes. Reject the X and Y binary. You can use any variable name you want or even no variables all together.
I think we can pretty safely say it’s not number 2. From what I found here transfem individuals slightly out number transmasc individuals and both out number ‘gender nonconforming’ individuals.
Of the 1.3 million adults who identify as transgender, 38.5% (515,200) are transgender women, 35.9% (480,000) are transgender men, and 25.6% (341,800) reported they are gender nonconforming
So more transfem individuals but not in the amount to explain the observed proportions in egg_irl.
Running through Google translate and reading the article
An experimental team from Anhui has worked for more than ten hours and is trying to reproduce the results. They updated the latest progress tens of minutes ago. The results will come out in about three days. Perhaps soon, we will be able to witness the gold content of room temperature superconductivity.
It seems they are in the middle of replicating the results. Not that they have already completed replicated the results.
The actual article title is:
The first room-temperature and atmospheric-pressure superconductor has sparked global enthusiasm, and tens of thousands of people are watching the progress of the Chinese team’s reappearance
when I translated it.
I don’t know, might want to do a double-blind peer-reviewed study to make sure
