  • That’s a fair concern, but if you keep it in a sealed plastic bin (a 5 qt is enough for 2 people for 1-2 weeks in my experience) you shouldn’t have any odor issues. We store ours in the fridge because there’s not enough room in the freezer, but if you have more freezer space than fridge this should be doubly true since all the food scraps will be frozen until you drop them off.

I only have to carry mine to the bins provided by the city outside my apartment, but shoving it in a bag or backpack would be doable if it’s worth it to you.

  • I feel like I’m going nuts, is nobody on lemmy actually reading this article? This dude turbo sucked.

Longo brought Peanut him home, ultimately caring for the squirrel for eight months before trying to release it back into the wild. He said Peanut returned to his porch a day and a half later with a broken bone sticking out of its tail, at which point Longo determined Peanut couldn’t survive in the wild alone and instead would move in with him.

Didn’t get him veterinary care though, because that would have resulted in his Cool Pet being taken away. What’s wrong with a little risk of sepsis and zero pain control for a serious injury if someone really, really wants to be a special boy??

  • True southern hospitality—like giving a stranger a ride home because you happened to see them walking along the road—is something I’m big into. I always try to do what I can to be that person. Which usually embarrasses my husband and he’s telling me to mind my own business, lol.

All the funerals I’ve been to in the south had a big gathering afterwards with a ton of homemade food, and I think that should really be standard. My (non southern) husband was surprised the first time we had to stay and eat and talk to everyone afterwards.
