Summer just started… at least wait until the year is over before making that incorrect judgment.
It’s so good we will get it twice this year.
Duckduckgo. Just moved to it within the year, and it’s been fine for my basic searches.
Same here, but the reason this doesn’t work is because a bic Mac meal doesn’t cost $15. It’s more like $10 or even lower with deals. If you are on a budget and have no time to cook, I can see how the cheaper option can still sway the decision. For me, it’s lower than that and will settle for Wendy’s 4 for 5. At $5 bucks, it’s absolutely worth it every now and then when I just want something cheap and quick.
The ones that kill me these days are the TV show ones where at the end of episode one they feel the need to give you a trailer for what your about to see. Noooo just stop! Who wants that! Gotta rush to get the remote to turn it off…
I agree, I only came here in July after they finally followed through with pulling the plug on 3rd party apps. This place has grown a lot in 1 year. Still needs more communities for the smaller hobbies, plus less memes and political content, and it would be perfect. 99% of everyone I talk with here is super nice and helpful as well.
Sadly I feel like this tradition is drying up more and more each year. I remember like 10-15 years ago tons of sites did really big things for the day. I honestly forgot today was April 1st until I saw this post. I miss it.
VirtualBoy was also a terrible Nintendo product from the 90s, which adds to the joke even more.
As did my uncle… from my understanding, it happened when he was 12 way back in the early 70s, which left him deaf and has impacted his entire life, not for the better. I wish I could see the life he would have lived if that had never happened.
Well, they will always have someone who can weigh in as a final decision when they both disagree on something. Sadly, I think it will be a bit one-sided.
I live in North NJ. From my understanding, it’s about as bad as it gets. House was 330k 10 years ago. We also have crazy property taxes, so that alone is 13k a year. I also live in a very rural area which was the only option for the area if we wanted some space and also keep house prices semi cheap.
We purchased the house for around 300k, and even with the market today, it’s about 500k. Sure, it could go for higher whenever we do sell, but it’s not an investment. With our current loan we will have paid over 500k over 30 years, so I really am not expecting to make out from this. The only way this makes me money is when I retire (which is close to payoff anyway) and move someplace way cheaper than we’re we live now.
I don’t make 200k, but together with my wife, we make a little under that. We both have cars, and both are paid off. I still have the first car I ever brought, which is a Nissan Sentra 2006 basic model. So, 17 years on the same car and hers is a 2015 Toyota. We do have 2 kids and brought a house in 2015. The last 4 years have been almost impossible to make ends meet, and all we try to do is survive with the very occasional do something for the kids. I have tons of housework I can’t do but also can’t pay for either. Because of this, we also can’t move until it’s taken care of, so we’re kind of stuck here as well. We have no money to save or invest. Did we make some bad decisions? Sure, probably shouldn’t have had kids for starters. They cost a fortune. But my point is we aren’t doing anything crazy here, it’s just that more and more things are taking our money and prices also went up. It sucks because all I want to do is live and get by, I don’t really have any grandiose dreams of doing crazy things or buying tons of stuff. I just want to get by as my parents did, which seems impossible today.
But I thought he liked chewie…
Yeah it’s sad but it makes me happy I was always cheap af and never really enjoyed the “premium” stuff like big Mac or whoppers. With the phone app and its deals paired with the cheapest offering most of those places I can still spend like 5-7 bucks and get more than enough crap food for a meal. I am pretty bad myself, but I also have no idea how anyone can enjoy 5 straight days of any fast food. It’s a once a week thing, maybe twice, depending on time and budget. Again I know it’s bad!
I don’t post here as much as I did on reddit, but if I had to compare the 2, this place is WAY nicer. I got into such a habit where I review what i type about 3 times just because I knew, on reddit the majority of the time, someone will immediately be hostile. On Lemmy? I’ve actually had way more responses that are productive or add to what I say, and I don’t mind replying back because of that.
The only issues I’ve had with Lemmy is lack of content compared to the other place.
Which one is that? I still see 4 for $4.44 or 4 for $5 deals plus I think some that are $6 where i live (and i live in one of the most expensive places in the US). It’s still one of the best deals for fast food, plus using the app gets you something else for free to add on normally. Like right now it’s a free 6 piece on Wednesdays with any purchase. So a burger, fry, 10 nugs, and a drink for $5 is a good deal these days, even if it is terrible for you.
It is… oh boy. I have only been twice since my friend has a metal band that plays there sometimes. I never knew and I doubt he knows that as well since he is definitely not into that either.
I guess I would be one of them. Back in high school, it was the only other drug I tried once outside of pot. Then, I proceeded to never have it again until my friends (also same friends from high school) started getting it more and more lately. I barely get to see them but I would say it’s probably once every 4-6 months now that I dive in.
I do think the gateway to this was the readily available chocolate shroom bars that were popping up everywhere were I live and got us all to just say sure why not. Now it’s a mix of that and also just its self plain or chop it up and steep it for a tea. We all love it and have some great times together doing it.
