The real question is how to make it profitable. Turn the captured carbon into building materials somehow?
As it stands, who pays for it? Can’t rely on government subsidies, and can’t rely on business doing it unless they’re compelled.
I wish it would work but I just don’t see how it fits in the current system at any meaningful scale.
Update: Worth it, thanks for the tips everyone!
Took a drive out to a little town near Newmarket (Ousden) that seemed to be recommended as a stargazing spot. Top of a hill, hardly a cloud in the sky, sliver of a moon, and not even too cold. What a perfect night!
Even on an iPhone 13 mini without a tripod or any skill in photography we managed to get a couple of amazing snaps.
Finished up with some motorway services doughnuts on the way home in the wee hours.
Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - would do it again.
Exciting stuff! Just an hour or two until it’s dark. Fingers crossed!
Reckon it’s worth taking a drive out of London to spot the aurora?
Terrible in the East End of London. The things I’d do to be able to just take a walking meeting without the call dropping out every 5 minutes!
Water may be wet. But let’s wait until January to be sure.
Spacious room with a single toilet and a floor to ceiling solid wood door: 🚨ILLEGAL🚨. But add a sink and anyone can poop to their heart’s content.
It seems the issue here is actually mixed gender handwashing, which is the real scourge.
Right. So just strap a Saturn V to my space suction cup and I’m golden?
But how do you pin the turmoil on the other team if you do it before the election?
Empty flights from a military base with no press allowed, guaranteed.
It was a national tech store, so had a few hundred locations around the country. I just had the one.
One of the big challenges was having little to no say in brand or supplier decisions etc. Specifically, we also struggled with paying inflated wholesale prices with the franchisee or then benefiting from volume rebates which weren’t shared. Really crushed our margins!
I suppose in a smaller chain you might be a little closer to the franchisor, and you might have some influence, but ultimately you’ll always be the little guy.
Been there, done that. Would not recommend. Space Pirate has nailed the experience. I paid a lot of money for essentially a job, and ended up selling at a loss just to get my time and mental health back.
That was back around 2010 so I’m sure it’s an even more difficult situation for franchisees today.
Ask me anything, I guess?
Missed it as a kid, but our local cinema put it on the big screen a few months back. Can absolutely see why it’s a cult classic!
Under the new definition, which comes into force on Thursday, extremism is "the promotion or advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, that aims to: negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of others; or undermine, overturn or replace the UK’s system of liberal parliamentary democracy and democratic rights; or intentionally create a permissive environment for others to achieve the results in (1) or (2)

Organisations or individuals added to the list will not be criminalised, unlike terrorist groups. Instead, they will be barred from contact with government and will not be able to receive government funding.
Looks like we’re finally going to separate church and state!
Can I still be Garth?
Got one of these too and the cleaning cycle leak is apparently a design flaw. The water drains directly into the drip tray but it isn’t big enough to hold a full cleaning cycle.
I put a towel under it whenever I clean it. Such a shame because it’s a great machine otherwise!
I bled the radiators and didn’t get horrible boiler water all over me or the flat!
You expect them to just keep the gimp locked in the dungeon like some kind of… oh right.
Got a verbal diagnosis last month but still waiting on the report so I can try medication. In the meantime, the doctor told me to cut down on caffeine so now I’m even more scatter brained than usual.
Great that we can try something eventually, but the suspense is frustrating!
