I work in R&D and my ass would be canned if I housed critical data like this, it goes against so many standard policies. The foreman and company screwed up both and made you a fall guy.

Given how much about science we still have to learn, I would say it is a distinct possibility. If you want something cheap and easy to use like a microwave to do this though, I highly doubt we’d see that possible for the next 30-40 years at minimum.

Edit: Just thumbed through the report, and based on my experience my above scenerio is still likely what is happening as well. Amount of work wil remain the same, but fewer people to do it.
