In the United States.
With the fediverse, couldn’t they just create their own private instance and let all the other instances just feed them data?
As long as they don’t do anything to inspire other instances to defederate with them (which by not posting anything and not drawing attention they probably won’t) they can just sit there pulling data.
Never forget the guy who didn’t want to poop for 3 days.
“Massive Trouble”
Step 1 - Scrape everyone’s data to make your LLM and make a high profile deal worth $10B
Step 2 - Get sued by everyone whose data you scraped
Step 3 - Settle and everyone in the class will be eligible for $5 credit using ChatGPT-4
Step 4 - Bask in the influx of new data
Step 5 - Profit
Got it! Thanks for the clarification!
I’m very confused about what openmedia.org is saying vs what I’ve been reading elsewhere about C-18.
Is he involved with openmedia.org?
Not have supermarkets? I think there’s a pretty strong correlation between the proliferation of single use plastic and supermarkets.
I honestly can’t tell what your opinion is. Who is Hair Guy? And which course is clear? Assume I’m ignorant and don’t know who the players are or what people think of them…
The article is really confusing.
It seems like the government is saying the plant will create 3000 jobs and add $200 billion to the economy (well covering $16 billion).
But, if I’m reading it right the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) says it will be 1400 jobs and add a “small” amount to the economy, though the amount will cover the costs. There was also something about the PBO not necessarily having all the info.
I wish they’d just lay it out with what the two sides are saying instead of just scattered through the article.
I saw they charge, looked around a bit for how much, couldn’t figure it out and noped out.
Are you searching on the website or in Jerboa?
The search is a bit funny. If you’re on the website and search and if the community hasn’t been indexed by your instance, you won’t get it in the results. But, if you search with the url https://feddit.uk/c/britishproblems even though it doesn’t give results it will go and index the community. A few minutes later it will show up.
I don’t know if that works in Jerboa (android app)
I have a lot of issues with Lemmy and more specifically how the fediverse will work with multiple copies of communities and the knee-jerk defederation. But, in terms of stability, content and quality, I feel like it has been getting better. I’m willing to give it some more time.
