If the party I vote for in Germany would be one in the US they probably would be banned for being communists or something like that while here they’re a widely accepted part of the goverment.

I think most of their bricks are made in China though and if it’s compared to Cobi who make all their bricks in the EU they really are expensive. Also, from what I’ve heard their brick quality seems to be somewhat fluctuating.
As a Kaufland guy myself I’m deeply disappointed you didn’t mention them.
