Is it any different from the existing vegan community?

Pretty sure they’re .gsheet
Other responses are kind of fence-sitting so I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say yeah it’s poor taste, but forgiveable. I think it just boils down to why would you use a skin tone that’s not yours? Some people like having an emoji that’s they share with others of their color, so why intrude on that?
Then what is your explanation for black and brown people more likely to use the skin toned emojis, as has been mentioned so much in this thread? Are they less lazy than white people, or care more about it? If they care more about it, then why?
White dude here. I use the white skin emojis, but honestly I think it’s just because I see my black and brown friends use their skin tones as a rule, and I feel like using the yellow tone is a bit weird when others are using the skin tone customization.
I’m not ashamed of my skin color or anything and the phone remembers my last tone selection so I don’t really see a reason to not use it.
All and probably most Local feeds are negative. If you’re looking for a more positive experience, you should change the way you interact with Lemmy and the Fediverse.
First, you should investigate different instances (or consider hosting your own) and find one that sounds like it has a better vibe. Then use the Local feeds instead of All.
Second, look for better communities. Many people complain about there being different iterations of communities but this is where that’s a strength of Lemmy’s structure. If the news community you’re frequenting is too full of downers, then look into different news communities. Or- again- if you’re feeling up to it, make your own and advertise it as a light-hearted community, then moderate it as such.
I don’t know what you’re referencing, sorry if im a bit dense haha
Absolutely, and it’s infuriating. The only thing that can stand between criminals and sociopaths is the vote, and a too much of the vote is controlled by morons.
Yes, and it’s important that felons be able to run for president. Were that not the case, a corrupt enough system could just disqualify anyone that would seek to oust it.
Try to improve lemmy/fediverse 100%
Yeah those comments are annoying
It does offer an example of the services they use third parties to provide in the next sentence. So they’re obviously giving out the phone number you provided at sign-up to the verification code people. I don’t think there’s any reason to believe they’re giving away your contact list from this paragraph anyway.
I think it’s useful if it’s a feature you can choose to activate or deactivate yourself on specific groups of communities, but it sounds awful if the decision is made for you.
Bingo. Affect is a verb, effect is a noun.
Edit: English is silly and I’m a fool for thinking I had so much as a foothold on the wall of mastery of my native language.
Heck yeah I’ve been meaning to find some more weird west media.
Just wanna point out to the thread in general that this isn’t just surveying a bunch of people asking “on a scale of 1-10 how happy are you?”
The World Happiness Report uses six factors as predictors of life evaluation: GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and corruption.
Edit: the video linked actually doesn’t make much mention of the survey mentioned in the headline.

Because we are better than most countries by these metrics
Well sure, the BSers are insecure and deep down believe that other people are more impressive than them, so they believe others’ BS. That’s why they feel the need to BS in order to stack up. If they were secure with themselves then they would notice that other BSers are, well, BSing.
I agree, was just curious thank you.
