It looks like you have dungeon at home going by your surroundings. but hey, just because someone has a nice half-pipe at home doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy the skate park on special occasions.
Enjoy!

Kid, I’m old enough to have played Playstation games in my walkman for the music.
two older ones I always go back to are The Protomen and Gunship.
and if you like the story telling in a Protomen album and you like The Magnus Archives podcast, you may also find some joy in The Mechanisms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppmcM_aEMTY but that’s the biggest stretch because it’s less music and more audio storytelling weirdness.
is different, but maybe it will hit for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Soy4jGPHr3g&list=RDSoy4jGPHr3g&start_radio=1
though, if you like the instrumentals in what you posted you might like Fake Type. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs_AuDacuWw

My experience has generally been that any song recommendations by the algorithm are completely wrong. Even when I build the playlist with a certain vibe and then request suggestions from the algorithm, it will go into left field and pick the most awful choices to fill out the list.
You would think that, with all this data they are keen to collect, they would have some level of understanding of vibes. Not direct understanding, obviously, but I would have thought them capable of cross-referencing various listening profiles to suggest better music.
It’s legit one of the things I could see AI actually being good at and used ethically for. I guess the fact that it’s not used for better taste profiling is a small mercy, considering the technology would be used for more nefarious stuff elsewhere if it was any good.
A prime example: the song “The Hoodin’ of Miss Fannie Deberry” by Kenny Rogers is decidedly different from the rest of his catalog. No matter how hard I try to get Spotify to find songs with similar vibes, I can’t escape Kenny Rogers and general country tunes. It’s maddening.
Any given song radio will trap you in a decade of music/genre, and pay no attention to the vibe of a song.
It has gotten slightly better recently with making custom playlists for me, but once my hyper-focus changes, I’m sure it will be out of sync with me again. Frontier Psychiatrist Radio slaps, but I’m still trapped in the '90s-'00s.

You know,
First I appreciate the link. People will be able to draw their own conclusions and that’s good.
But I want to make a little digression.
I remember, about 5 years ago now, a time when I didn’t know anything about Israel. It was just…that place where where some Jewish people took pilgrimages. It was a historic place that I gave very little thought to.
And I remember sharing a smoke with a good friend of mine, someone who I consider to be a man of unimpeachable honor and kindness, and I can picture the very moment in my mind that I mentioned something in passing about Israel. It might have had something to do with the Depp trial at the time, I can’t recall.
but I can recall his face twisting into rage and babbling for 20 minutes about the country. A discussion I would later find to be mostly based on well-documented facts. This was well before October 7th mind you. I don’t even think I knew the meaning of the word ‘Zionist.’
Anyway. The point of my digression is this: My position on Israel was formed that day and it’s only ever gotten more firm as the years have passed.

I would need screenshots of exactly what the person said before I accuse someone of being an antisemite. especially in a world where the UK is jailing people as terrorists for wearing T-shirts against genocide. I don’t have a problem with people of Jewish faith, but you would have to be blind to not see the Israeli influences at play in most of the western world.
So if this person said things that directly related to ISRAELI meddling I would be inclined to believe them. While if it was general Jews=Bad obviously I would have a problem.
but frankly, there’s not much someone could say to me in any context that would allow me to support the current Israeli administration or their actions. And I’m happy to see anyone even trying to do so on my home-server being removed.

They were one of the go-to bands being played by soldiers during the Iraq and Iran war. While that doesn’t make them bad by default it does put them in the position of being supportive of the military industrial complex. So, it’s 100% on brand for them to be signing bombs for Israelis.
One of the Israeli narratives is of self-defense against terrorism after all. If you remove all of the context around the situation and hold to that reductive stance, then Disturbed is just doing what they’ve always done.

The thing that gets me, is that eventually you get old enough to realize that many of the anthems of youthful rebellion were only written and released because you would buy it.
You get some true believers like Run the Jewels and Rage Against the Machine, but so many more are just pandering to the kids.

clearly someone doesn’t like lasagna
I’m blind in both eyes. I can’t even see this comment.
I remember signing up for Reddit in my middle school library, way back when we were all still shitting on digg. It’s wild to have seen it fall so far.
It’s not a blank screen. It’s a canvas. You just don’t know how to paint.

great, this guys going to lash out at me because his stomach swallowed too much of his unit to be functional. fricken wednesdays.

True enough, I looked up the population a while after making this comment but I was afk. I don’t see the EU taking up the fight though. I guess papa putin gets another thing he wants. NATO getting pulled apart.

I haven’t deleted yet. All of my family is there, but it’s not on my phone, computer, or any device. I stopped giving meta space when I found out they mapped my network.

Dear Greenland,
You cannot allow this. Whatever political moves you are thinking about making, whatever rebuff you are considering, this can’t be allowed to happen.
I say this as an American. You can’t reason with Trump by letting him violate your borders. I know it may be hard to envision, but you are the natives in a moment of imperial expansion. Your schools are better than ours; you should know what that means. Trump is taking moves from Putin, Hitler, and even the British fucking Empire. You’re Hawaii, telling the fruit companies to fuck off, but with oil.
Jessica Berlin is right. Remove or destroy those machines now. The moment you let the US break ground, you have signaled your own defeat.

I do my best.
I’m a bit beyond the point of beating myself up or lashing out. Currently living alone for the first time in my life (I’m not a young man mind you) and each day is a bit of discovery and introspection.
I have bad days and bad habits but therapy and aweness helps keep things in perspective. It’s hard to explain to people the point I’m at. I don’t consider myself depressed. I’d say I’m re-discovering myself while also trying not to fall into the full escape of solitude.
It’s generally nice, though really ‘healing’ I think, requires some discomfort. So no, not beating myself up. Not angry these days. I’m just trying to be a brave little guy when I need to be.
best of luck on your journey too.
Flock cameras aside, I would never buy a home that’s part of an HOA. There have been too many stories over the last 10 years of these terrible people abusing their power, up-to and including stealing people’s home out from under them. That neighborhood is unlivable.
