I still am using Google and I hate how useless it has become since SEO started to become a thing in the last 5 or 10 years. Maybe I should try Kagi. Does it have location specific search results

Did you really just say car racism lmao.
I know that in the UK 1.3% of our land is road, so maybe the global average isn’t much lower
It would probably be about the same if not for the fact humans are smart enough to know better, so when we do bad things there isn’t any excuse.
Hey cool a meme format inspired by the guys from Buzzfeed Unsolved, great show
I mean it kind of ends up being a Skinner box anyway just because of the loop of scrolling, seeing a post, looking at it and repeating. But I agree nobody is actively trying to trap you in one.
This would be so fucking annoying, I don’t use reddit day to day anymore but it’s still a useful research tool when I see results from it on Google. I don’t hate their search feature quite as much as some but I still don’t want to use it most of the time.
This seems so dumb for them to do, I feel like having their content listed on search engines is s major advantage they have over Facebook et al.
I don’t think think you even got the wrong sentiment I was definitely being rude lol. I think l was just in a bad mood and interpreted your post uncharitably but when I read your comments on the post later I saw you didn’t have any ill intentions and felt bad for jumping to conclusions. Glad this exchange ended on good terms any way.
You’re right I should have worded that better, so apologies for being rude. I just think they demonotised him because it’s actually pretty clear he is guilty (even if it is just to protect themselves) and your post was kind of adding to the narrative that it’s just a witch hunt when demonotised videos don’t even have the ads anyway.
But I understand you were just making a point about private companies having too much power over the livelihoods of creators etc which I agree with. I’m sure you didn’t have ill intent so like I say I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions.
I bet you voted for Brexit.
666 words! This article must have been written by the Illuminati…
Maybe you should edit your post as not to misinform more people given that you stated something as a fact that you basically just fabricated.
Edit: this comment was more rude than was necessary
False dicotomy. People talk shit about landlords because of how they’re treated by them. Landlords talk shit about tenants because they’re pieces of shit which is the same reason they treat tenants like shit.
Because people need housing to live in, so it’s in the interest of the vast majority of people to make sure the few that own property can’t increase rent by 100s of % for no good reason. Additionally we live in a democracy so usually the interests of the majority are supposed to guide policy making even if it upsets the minority that control access to resources because they won’t profit quite as much as otherwise.
But that has already happened, of course you don’t fear something that has already occurred. People only fear what is yet to occur
It’s almost like we all used to use reddit like 2 months ago so are interested what’s happening with it, crazy
I’ve also heard them say tomatoes shouldn’t be added to chilli as well
Maybe, people do talk fondly about the days of forums that were dedicated to specific subjects with small communities where people all know each other and an instance can be much like that. Although sometimes what people actually want is different to what they really want, you know? Although I also do remember forums mostly too.
I think it’s still good to talk about Lemmy and the fediverse is still good, I joined Lemmy earlier this month and the way ActivityPub works was quite appealing to me and really made me want to switch. It was slightly unintuitive at first but someone described it as being like the email protocol where you can view emails from anyone even if they’re on say gmail and you’re on Yahoo mail/proton mail/ self hosted email/etc and that made it make complete sense.
Cool, yeah I will definitely be trying it out thanks.
