I’ll be glad to see the backs of the Tories, but I don’t have high expectations for Labour. Every time the Tories fuck up Labour simply suggests “we wouldn’t do it that way.” Hindsight is a pretty powerful thing and I don’t know if they’ll be able to make the right decisions either.
Tories definitely shouldn’t win, but I don’t feel labour deserve to win. I feel like I’m voting for the lesser of 2 evils 😞
Most definitely an unpopular opinion. When the Matrix originally released it was a technical marvel, that moment Neo is dodging the bullets in slow motion was incredible. I think as the years have gone on the story has lost some of its charm because the wachowskis have been butchering the franchise to try and protect it in some strange way. As a standalone movie The Matrix story and technical implementation were phenomenal, as soon as they made sequels, and other movies started to copycat, it began to lose that magic
Definitely chippy chips with battered fish.
It’s not the destination but the journey. In that 360 turn you may have looked inwards and at your past, identified failings of the past or remember things you forgot about that you loved. When you reach that 360 point you’re more aware of what has been and may have a different outlook on what could be. Or something like that…
I have no preference! It was to do with Spring/yaml config and some really strange conflict which required the use of single quotes. I’m still a total noob in the world of software dev, so I wouldn’t be able to explain why it worked 🤣
Removed double quotes, added single quotes

If anyone genuinely feels this way and wants to get started in coding, I highly recommend doing one of the mooc.fi courses. Codecademy is fine as a taster/refresh but don’t waste money on the premium when something like mooc is available for free.
I’ve only recently joined the dev world and I saw this post in the morning. Late this afternoon I’m doing a deployment that fails, couldn’t determine the cause as I’m a noob, before bothering a more senior dev for help I run it again… It worked.
Freed from desire - Gala Rizzatto. I always thought it was “My love has got no money, he’s got his trumbalyse” and I never knew what a trumbalyse was.
Also Peter Kay did a great bit around misheard lyrics.
When the leader of the rebellion died in the attempted heroic scene and everyone was distraught and shocked, I was just think “Why do I care? He’s said a couple of lines and been on screen for about 5 minutes…”
Colouring books! The wife, mother, and mother-in-law all find it therapeutic so they get that. Father and father-IL get booze. Brother gets a happy Xmas text as we stopped exchanging gifts years ago.
I suspect this is all part of the long term plan; provide the service at a reduced fee so people gain reliance on the tech, then increase the cost over time. We see this happen everywhere.
When I was reading the book something was irritating me but I couldn’t tell what. I finished the book and looked at other people’s reviews and realised the thing that was irritating me was how the main character was perfect at everything especially how cringe it was that he could pick up a musical instrument after many years and play it so perfectly it brings people to tears.
I think the issue with trying to apply that logic is you have an echo chamber already forming/formed. If you don’t agree with the majority or go with the flow you’ll either be downvoted or ignored.
I really enjoyed Travelers, although I’m glad they were able to end it as they did.
I agree with you that he was a bad leader. That is a failure on Labour’s part as a whole, and on Corbyn’s by not taking the initiative to say “You know what, it’s clear this party is not going to make headway with the current leadership. Let’s find a new leader that is liked by the people and get Labour in for the people.”
Unfortunately the cycle continues where Tory’s are fucking things up as we speak so that when Labour likely get in they will spend years putting the pieces back together. Doesn’t matter who wins, the public lose.
Shame Corbyn wouldn’t step down so someone that wasn’t disliked by so many voters could step in
“Labour will also remove the discriminatory age bands, so all adults are entitled to the same minimum wage, delivering a pay rise to hundreds of thousands of workers across the UK.”
I like this change, shame it wasn’t in place when I was younger!
My concern with this is that for a lot of young people retail is their first job, and so I suspect retail is predominantly young workers. What kind of impact would this have on the economy? E.g. if Morrisons hires lots of younger people and they now need to increase all their pays, I’m guessing they’ll need to cut staff numbers or increase prices? Of course they are going to avoid cutting into their profits. Now times this by however many retailers there are. I can only guess there is the hope that people will buy more.
