I stopped using the site when they required me to provide data every few weeks in order to see anything on the site. Come on, Glassdoor. It isn’t like I am job hopping or having salary changes every 30 days.

Agreed. Public safety is making everyone aware and allowing them to make informed decisions. Public safety is not hiding information hoping the problem solves itself.

The irony being the video game industry is currently one of the most unstable and corrupt industries right now. Video game CEOs are raking in money while the actual creatives are being fired left and right. There is serious brain drain and a mental health crisis is occurring.

I’m no philosopher so take this with a grain of salt. The following comes from the perspective of someone living in a predominantly Asian area in the southern United States.

Xenophobia generally refers to a fear or dislike of everyone who isn’t of your culture regardless of who they are. Racism is prejudice against people of a specific race. East Asian cultures are vocally xenophobic, citing differences in morals and traditions. They don’t hate foreigners because of their race or the color of their skin. They hate when people come into their country and behave in a way that goes against the grain. Dealing with those types of people would cause them to go against the grain as well and it makes them uncomfortable.

Xenophobia generally deals with culture while racism deals with race. Both are nasty and things we can do without, but racism is significantly worse.

Their decision to profit off the project was their downfall.

I would argue there are differences between racism and xenophobia.

As others have said, the entire lemmy.ml instance skates on thin ice. While the people on it are generally ok the admins have a clear agenda and are not afraid to suppress ideas and discussions that do not adhere to their ideology. I always triple check any news or political posts that come from that instance.

Some earrings look incredible and some look…artistic, putting it nicely. Like with clothes, clothes that look good on one person do not look good on everyone. Of course there is also personal preference.

When it comes down to it though I do not think many women wear earrings to make them look pretty. They wear it to give themselves confidence, and I want to encourage and support this behavior whenever possible, even if it goes against my personal aesthetic (that is not to say I dislike earrings - this mostly applies to tattoos for me).

There is scientific evidence that circumcision results in the area being cleaner and easier to maintain. I’m not denying it is child mutilation, but you also shouldn’t just sweep it under the rug as religious bullshittery.
