I get your frustration. I live in Geneva and people here also seem to be addicted to their cars and precious parking spaces even though it’s just not sustainable for the density of the city.

I’m a flexitarian myself and I wish more people would just do that, just realise that they’re eating too much meat for their health anyway and cut it down to 2 or 3 times a week.
Same, I had to create own magazine for my niche hobby, and I’ve been posting in it to encourage activity, much more than I used to post.
Yeah I feel I have to do the same. I also created a community for my niche hobby and I found I have to be a bit more of a poster than I used to be, even if it means that for now the magazine is mostly me and pics of my garden.
I thought r/nottheonion had made the jump to the fediverse
Personally I was getting a bit tired of not having one of my interests here so I created the magazine for it. We’ll just see if it takes off.
For some other niche interests…I’ll wait and see, I don’t feel invested enough to create the magazines for them.

Yeah, I first took a look at lemmy and others a few weeks ago, when everyone was asking “what’s an alternative?” and at the time, despite so many people talking about the fediverse, there weren’t that many people or threads. And now look how active some communities are becoming!
One problem with grassy lines is that when you need to temporarily use replacement buses (like in cases of issues with the electricity or maintenance, etc.) they can’t drive on the lines and have to take the regular roads with the cars.
At the moment one tram line in my city has been interrupted for a few weeks and that’s how I noticed that the grassy line was making things more complicated for the buses that are used instead.
I think that’s one reason why most cities only put a few sections with grass.
