The statement from the wildlife management seems to imply the women were being idiots, but the news article sounds like they were attacked randomly

The models I’ve seen project at least 5°C drop in temperature for most of the UK if the AMOS fails. You may enjoy the summer a bit more but winters would be harsh if that comes to pass
They are experiencing record heatwaves so it might be getting their attention. Their population is huge so if they become uncomfortable it’s a powerful force for change
Is there some technical difficulties in creating this in lemmy? I thought I would see alternatives by now
Timmy, so help me god if you are doing math in there again!
It’s harder to make apps for kbin right now, but that will change in hopefully a month or so
Kbin is newer and the dev, Ernest, is getting more help from the community now that its growth has exploded

Well in French, carabin is a rifled horseman
Boost is like retweeting something, you can have followers in the fediverse. Boosting makes something more visible to everyone, so you upvote/downvote things you personally like/dislike and boost things you think your followers/everyone would like
Think of this place as a cross between email, Twitter and reddit. All communities can interact with each other and are independent
Yeah bot posts have been growing steadily for years but I always assumed the mods were in on it
IIRC they started trying right when IPOs were hot and couldn’t finalize the backing before the bubble popped
Everyone else got a sweet IPO cash out during covid, now he wants his millions too
Don’t sweat it my guy, some people are passive aggressive and/or won’t bother defending a position for character reasons. Most people reading your comment can recognize it as reasonable
Also many people don’t realize they aren’t anonymous since they are new here, so people are still acting like they were in reddit. Give it time and ignore it regardless
Plankton isn’t an animal or insect though, it’s algae and bacteria
My vote goes to worms. Without them huge amounts (like the vast majority) of land will become dead after a few years. Worms are very underrated
Do no evil
What a joke
People tend to upvote and believe anything that already has a lot of upvotes. Seeing downvotes is a good red flag to warn users to not blindly believe everything they see with positive karma.
I think the current system is harder to manipulate than reddit
Oh, I misunderstood then. It sounded to me like they were saying lemmy was more vulnerable
How is that different than what’s currently on reddit? Unless you are talking about 5 years ago, modern reddit is filled with manipulated conversations
Any conversation, be it political or commercial. All it takes is something sounding confident, a grain of truth and lots of upvotes to convince people.
That’s why I like seeing downvoted as a red flag people can pay attention to
In the last 7 years they’ve been pretty one sided on the political propaganda spectrum
