I have a tungsten wedding band. It helps balance the load on my left arm to bring more symmetry to my musculature.

2·11 days agoMirror’s Edge Catalyst does this by using an eye contact based system called BeatLink, which is the Runner’s version of the Conglomerate’s Gridlink. The game lets you disable most or all of the HUD features, and mods allow you to hide the rest. They also have options to adjust the amount of handholding it does. I’m a huge fan!

4·11 days agoI respect your opinion, but 1080p upscales better on a 4k monitor than a 2k (1440p) one.
Ironic considering they gave us the statue 🗽
I mean, I did find this post because it got pushed to the top of my Active feed…

271·2 months agoJust cut up fruits and vegetables. They love those. No need to get special toddler snacks. Raisins are healthier than fruit snacks. The ultra processed foods are mostly sold for their convenience, and should be used sparingly.
If I summarized Alice’s Restaurant, none of the jokes would land. This piece is in the same caregory

15·2 months agoTroubleshooting is an underrated skill. We’ve had so many technicians struggle because they lacked troubleshooting skills, many leave after a few months to a year, and some do eventually pick it up, but man is it nice to have a new hire that already knows how to look up manuals and troubleshoot

I mean, shouldn’t a bug be patched regardless of who finds it? Some bugs are vulnerabilities, especially if a single AI code review can find dozens of them. If the kernel maintainers don’t find them first, then security goes out the door in short order.

9·3 months agoOne thing that I would recommend is to be curious! If they are open to it, ask questions about their journey and how it feels. Try to focus on them and their journey, and avoid asking questions about embys as a whole.
I came out to my parents over a year ago, and they haven’t mentioned it or asked a question about it since. I’m moved out, so I only see them in video calls every week or two. Now I’m gearing up to bring it up again, and it’s almost more difficult than the initial coming out experience was.
There are a lot of us, and each of us are different in our journeys, presentation, pronouns, and dysphoria or lack thereof. Some are bigender and some are agender.
Try to learn how to love them and help them to feel safe and grow into their best authentic self.

2·3 months agoI’m actually a big fan of gnome! I remember watching the countdown to gnome 3 back in 2012. It felt like the modern next step for Linux desktops. But then they never made a straightforward way to add applets and extensions that didn’t break every few years, and they have limited configuration options out of the box. I love the gestures and desktop management when I have 1 monitor, but that breaks down as soon as you add a second.
I still use gnome on my laptop, but I’ve always been a desktop andy. My desktop runs KDE Plasma at the moment, and it’s so nice to be able to customize it in an intuitive and straightforward way.
