I love Linux, use it regularly and even work with it professionally, but gaming is still a nightmare.

I tried one of these torrents for some small game, and couldn’t figure out how to install it. Then I gave up and bought Spider-Man on Steam, tried to run Spider-Man through Proton but the performance was crap (supposedly it works great on Steam Deck, but not on my NVIDIA laptop despite having all drivers). Finally I gave up and installed a dual-boot of Windows.

I miss being able to easily find communities (subreddits) about most of my interests.

Looks nice but very limited right now. Both beehaw and lemmy.world are featured but they are now defedrated (unfortunately).

For some of these communities there are alternatives on other instances, which are not mainlined.

Lemmy has “all”, which shows content from all federated communities. Since kbin is now federated as well, it can show in “all” even for Lemmy users. In fact, that’s how I found this post! By sorting “all (new)”.
