not understanding why I’d have to kill everyone around after making this choice (Maman Brigitte for instance)
That actually happened to me, too. Luckily, I didn’t mind too much, but yeah, it was a bit of a surprise.

Love it to pieces. Paid absolutely no attention to it before it was released, and due to some friendly advice from an online mate, waited a few months before picking it up, when most of the really bad bugs were already ironed out.
I love pretty much everything about it:
So yeah, love it to pieces, and absolutely one of my all time favorite games.
“they can’t rely on the left to support them”
Worse, they do not want to. That would be bad for their billionaire buddies. The same buddies that funnel untold millions to both parties at the same time, to ensure they get what they want either way.
Personally, if I was unhappy with your posts, I’d just shrug and then block you. Case closed :)
I had not heard of this book. I just read the interview, both parts, and I must say, I did not think it possible, but I think I love Nana Visitor even more now. I will definitly buy and read her book.
I have a Fairphone 4, as well, and I bought it for the very same reason. The previous phone was not a high end model, but it worked well enough for me until the battery just died from one day to the next. Was nothing I could do as it was glued and soldered, and there was no way for an amateur like me to replace it, so all of that still working hardware had to be recycled. That first made me angry, then it made me think, and I looked around and found the FP4 with its promise of being able to replace not just the battery but everything else as well, as well as extensive, long term software support. I have seen two major Android version updates already, and regular security and feature updates, so I am very happy with my buying decision.
Lexx - The Dark Zone.
Pure Canadian-German Madness with a really great cast and the wildest stories ever. And what other show has a certified anti hero as starship captain?
Like Milei’s strategy, Trump advisors see a leaner, stripped-down bureaucracy as the key to long-term national wealth.
I rather suspect that “national wealth” would have to be interpretedas their personal wealth, not the wealth of the nation or any of its non-billionair populace. Policy by billionairs for billionairs.
Another theory is that people with children want you to have some, too, because they have no other topics available for discussion.
I’m in way over my head as it is. I can’t even imagine what it would be like having to be responsible for some gremlins, as well. We do not even dare get a cat (or two - you should always get two so they’re not lonely) for the same reason. Good thing my SO sees it exactly the same way. We’re both glad we didn’t have children.
Soooo… what’s for dinner today?
I’m reasonably sure this is not entirely correct. My understanding is that a replicator works similar to a transporter, in that it turns pure energy into matter according to a known pattern.
Don’t hate me, but I like Cyberpunk 2077. It may have had its problems at launch, and I heard people were promised all kinds of stuff that was not delived, or was delivered only much later, but I never listen to hype anyway. I’ve played this for many hours. There are great mods for that game that make it even better, and it has such cool characters, such a fascinating world, good music, great design, the combat is fun… I love it.
STOP DOING C++
Look at what compilers have been demanding your respect for all this time:
???
They have played us for absolute fools.
Nighr City is just so good!
There is this restaurant on a volcano on Lanzarote, in the “Parque Nacional de Timanfaya”, where they cook with the heat from the magma below. I am sure you could cook a pizza with that, as well.
It will transform mediocre content into crap, and then it will regurgitate that crap into worse and worse crap. All of that at the expensive of untold Terawatt-hours of energy. AI will not take over the world, but it sure will help destroy it anyway.
If you’re already working 40 hours a week, focusing on stuff out of hours is going to be hard. I know this all too well!
I was thinking more along the lines of ‘nightshift’. 😀
There are a lot of jobs that require out of hours support, specifically those that aren’t tied to business hours. In tech at least, many of the sites and services you use are built off the backs of software engineers that are paged at 5am because latency is a little higher than normal.
There is a very easy solution to this dilemma: pay someone to stand ready at off-hours.
Concept2 rowing machines. Even if they break, you can still buy spare parts at reasonable rates even for the very first model, which is decades old and only sold a few copies. Fantastic engineering.
